Meet Anthony Giovanni Elias | Actor, Martial Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Giovanni Elias and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anthony Giovanni, how do you think about risk?
“Empty your cup so that it may be filled”. – Bruce Lee
In life, you’re gonna make mistakes and you’ll have to live and learn from those mistakes. I believe that is the true journey to self discovery in becoming a better and stronger person each and every day.
I learned this throughout my time consistently as a martial artist and I apply this to my acting career as well. I always consider myself a student of life and I’m proud to wear a white belt mindset. You can never truly master something, you just continue to learn how to do it differently as you grow further. I live to learn… The day I stop learning, I find something new to do.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
All my life, I’ve always wanted to be a hero. My goal is to inspire people the way my heroes have inspired me.
Growing up I’ve always been fascinated by comics, TV and films watching many of my heroes such as Superman, Conan The Barbarian, Bruce Lee, Sylvester Stallone and many more. I’ve always wanted to be just like them and do what they do. This was my inspiration to set my journey on becoming an action hero!
My journey began when my mother signed me up for martial arts at the age of 7 and I instantly fell in love with it. It made me feel strong and powerful like my heroes. Since then I’ve been studying various arts such as Muay Thai, Capoeira, Filipino Kali, Taekwondo, Toshindo and more.
At 17 I began my career as an actor in TV production class in high school and became obsessed with learning how to film. Right after high school, I went to plenty of auditions and eventually landed my first project as a stunt performer for a short film called, Relapse directed by Rene Gonzalez. I loved every bit of being on my first official film set so much that soon after, I formed my own action team and began creating my own work to continue to put myself out there. Eventually my team and I were discovered by a Full Sail University filmmaker named, Vidal Acosta who did a documentary on us. From there, the calls for projects came and in the next project I starred in my first lead role in a short film called, Cope directed by Andrew Dean. And here I am 12 years later still pursuing hard in the business.
Through this journey I got to meet some of my heroes, including my mentor Marrese Crump (The Protector 2, Jiu jitsu, Welcome to Sudden Death). And every day I’m inspired by them to keep moving forward in achieving my goals. The biggest thing I’ve learned is that if you don’t try, you’ll never know what is possible. And I always like to say that as soon as you start something, you’re already successful. This is one of the most important things I always want to inspire people with when watching my journey. There’s always a million reasons why we can’t do something, but all you need is one to try.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly I’m a pretty simple guy and spontaneous at the same time. I love going to the movies and theme parks but I mostly enjoy the outdoors where I can create the energy and space I want for my friends and I to talk, have fun and learn more from each other.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I always like to dedicate my shoutout to my mentor and international action star, Marrese Crump for blessing me with the knowledge he’s passed down to me over the years. I wouldn’t be where I am without him.
I would also like to give a shoutout to my mother for blessing me with this beautiful life I get to live and for all her love and support.
And as always I’m thankful to all my supporters out there who have been there since the beginning. It’s because of them I get to do what I do.
