We had the good fortune of connecting with Savannah Bailey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Savannah, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Consign & Design Interiors is so unique in that it offers literally an option for everyone. The store is a true gem in that sense. We have hundreds of wonderful consignors so new items are entering the store every day. From repurposed pieces and refinished furniture to antiques and collectibles so many items are given “new life” and end up being treasured for an even longer amount of time. In addition to our consignors, the store is home to just under 60 independent retailers. These local vendors are rooted across our community and share our mission to drive local shopping and buying experiences for our customers. When I began the process of first expanding into the new furniture retail industry, it was really important to me that we carry high quality furniture. I took several weeks traveling all over the country visiting different manufacturers and I’m really proud to say that all of the new furniture lines we carry are made here in the USA.
What should our readers know about your business?
Consign & Design Interiors is continuing to expand and bring the interior design of one’s home full circle. We can consign items that clients are no longer in need of while providing a discount towards the purchase of new furnishings. We recently incorporated a full-service workroom with a fabricator, Melania, for all custom drapery, upholstery, and soft goods. I’m proud of the growth the store has seen in the last 5 years and look forward to continuing to expand and offer more services to our clients.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One thing most people don’t know about me is that I love to eat! Any time friends or family are visiting, I’m sure to take them at least once during their stay to Diletto Bakery, a must for a coffee and baked treat. My go-to quick lunch is always Inn Between Deli. I love popping in to shop at The Little Ladybug and The Crystal Plate. The Atlanta Botanical Garden Gainesville is the perfect afternoon retreat. There are new exhibits along the walking trails regularly. Braselton is another nearby city that I love exploring with friends. There are great antique markets, Chateau Elan winery and resort, and my absolute favorite: Cotton Calf Kitchen. The bacon wrapped scallops and parmesan risotto are a must!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
None of this would be possible without the amazing vendors and staff. They truly make the store a one-of-a-kind shopping experience and I’m grateful, blessed, and honored to lead such a talented group of individuals. The city of Flowery Branch has really gotten behind the shop local movement and have invested significant resources to drive more people to the downtown area including the new farmers market, downtown festivals, and the revamped Main Street.
