We had the good fortune of connecting with Diana Visser-Gregory and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Diana, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think Risk is important in everyone’s life and careers. For me it’s being able to take the risk to giving up a weekly paycheck and benefits to achieve the direction of my life. I control when I work and how much work I take on. Not having to work the traditional 9-5 hours and allowing myself the flexibility to work on my other passions is huge for my mindset. My life now adays consists of being a REALTOR® for over 20 years now, my acting career and activism roles.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My brother was injured as a toddler and caused damage to his brain stem. Over the years he was schooled with many children with different diagnosis’s eventually he was diagnosed as having global aphasia. As an adult following my experiences with him, I entered the dual diagnosis rehabilitation care fields working in group homes and a state institution as a day service teacher. This was my favorite job in the field teaching skills to bring clients who grew up in institutional care to teach them how to acclimate into the general population. Unfortunately, I was permanently injured working at a state institution and had to change my career path. I ended up with a degree in CIS/networking but became interested in real estate and got my REALTOR license in 2001. Real Estate has changed so much since then when we had a dot matrix printout daily of new listings to the ability to work from anywhere! My brand @DianaGregoryProperties encompasses many sectors of real estate from new home construction, resale homes, modular homes, working with investors and flipping homes for profit! I am dedicated to my sellers and buyers and pride myself on being accessible to them.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many places depending on the time they have! I work at several times a week @valorcoffe in downtown Alpharetta. They have great coffee, croissants and friendly consistent staff. Downtown Alpharetta has tons of shops and restaurants to visit and a great town green with farmers markets and always something going on. Roswell on Canton Street is another local area with restaurant after restaurant on this street. Park and walk by all of them and chose your flavor! Downtown Atlanta has something for everyone! Ponce City Market is great as well as the aquarium! And for the beach goers and historic architecture and the haunted local sites you defiantly need to visit Savannah!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family are my biggest supporters and fans! They are always there when I need help with talking though how I want to handle real estate transaction or when I need readers for my self tape auditions or a mental boost at the end of a long week. They allow me to focus on my goals and I am eternally grateful to them! I also have to send a “Shoutout” to @greenlightactingstudios @livingdownsouthrealty and @momsdemandaction for my career and activism work!
