We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Engle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lisa, what’s the most important think you’ve done for your children?
I believe that in order to teach children to become healthy, high-functioning, responsible, adaptable, and contributing adults, the most important thing I can do to equip them is to be that healthiest version of myself. By remaining pliable and tuning into present moment priorities, I can create a space for processing and growing in ways that support the optimal expression of their authentic beings. Learning to regulate our emotions, resources, time and energy are key for our well-being. As a parent, leaning into the conversations of what we want and need so that we can independently and collectively set our intentions and actions toward meeting those wants and needs. In order to assist my kids in doing that for themselves, I must practice it in my own day to day lifestyle and model the behavior I aspire them to experience and benefit from.
What should our readers know about your business?
I’m honored to say that I’ve served the Atlanta Natural Health Clinic for more than 30 years. With the inspiration to serve the greater whole of the chiropractic profession, I set out to write a book but felt nudged to become a certified health coach for the increased credentials. With that certification, another nudge (that felt more like a command) prompted the creation of OptiMOM Coaching, a coaching company that inspires, empowers, equips, and facilitates the optimal expression of innate potential and normalizes the philosophy of chiropractic; we have an innate wisdom that guides us toward healthy Life expression. Nearly a decade later, the Atlanta Natural Health Clinic and OptiMOM Coaching are serving many to support health AND my book was recently published. For me, accepting the responsibility to assess and address the priorities in “my world” is where I can show up to serve well and continue to have an expanded sphere of influence for increasing the expression of health and well-being. Now more than ever, it’s time to take a look at what health really means.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Our week would include an evening at the Botanical Gardens, a morning trip to climb Stone Mountain, and lunches up and down Buford Hwy. We’d find one evening for a special dinner out at il Giallo and maybe Sunday brunch at LaGarde. If the Atlanta United are playing, taking in a home game would be a fun outing. We’d likely take one day downtown to picnic at Centennial Olympic Park with afternoon reservations at the Aquarium. I’d need a month to show off all the amazing food available in our city.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a shout out to all the Atlanta Natural Health Clinic patients and OptiMOM Coaching clients who have accepted responsibility for their well-being and take initiative and action to increase their health. They are shining examples for the people in their sphere of influence of how to best express authentic, powerful innate potential. I’d like to also acknowledge my husband and children who hold a mirror for how I’m loving well and growing me into a healthier version of myself.
