We had the good fortune of connecting with Rosa Vasquez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rosa, how do you think about risk?
I feel taking risks are very important stepping stones towards the moments in life that help you to grow, mentally and socially towards your passion and purpose in this lifetime. I have been a career changer throughout my life because I have constantly evolved and nurtured what I value and believe in overtime. I always appreciated my ability to adapt to my needs and wants in my current life. I also know that sometimes that voice & vision that wakes you repeatedly throughout your life at 3 am is the life that you should be living and nurturing.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a former special education teacher and social services worker for over 16+ years in NYC. Throughout these challenges and trying times, I was slowly turning “inward” with the help of mindfulness and yoga to find my passion & purpose each time. I have always been an advocate for bringing the communities I worked and supported together collaboratively, so I decided to start a venture of discovery of what that community might be. Thanks to the creatives I connected and collaborated with along the way, it made me realize that I enjoy not only as a hobby, but I can actually build a community with those in the ACG social mixer network. It’s been about 50/50 because you have to find the life balance of being a content creator, hosting events, and also being a mom. But to me family is first, and it was that very motto that is another leading factor in pursuing this path. I’ve learned to lead with love; listen with mindfulness as a way to know what will be worth your time over anything else. I want the world to know that it’s never too late to pursue your passion & purpose in life, and if you water the seeds, they will eventually flourish and bloom when ready.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I use to do mini tours in certain hangout areas in NYC back in the day. Nowadays I probably would want to take them to see all the outer boroughs of NYC, not just Manhattan. To discover the diverse culture, food, music, and art.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My good friend, Tanya Vazquez -aka- MsConnect Global. She helped me to take the leap and risks even more to pursue my passion projects and endeavors.
