We had the good fortune of connecting with Des Monroe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Des, how do you think about risk?

Risk taking is the reason why I am where I am right now. It took me getting out of my comfort zone and moving by faith to pursue a dream and bring it to life starting with nothing. I’ve gained and I’ve lost a lot along the way, but everything happens for a reason. It has only caused me to evolve into a stronger and wiser woman. There were certain risks that I can honestly say I was afraid of taking, but it was those specific ones that have launched me into higher elements of my career.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

First off, I’m very proud of how I’ve grown to understand the industry and maneuver. I’m also proud of how I’ve perfected my craft in music, being able to translate my transparency in a way where you can hear what I have to say and enjoy it at the same time. Last but not least I’m proud of the relationships I’ve gained. I move by my five keys: faith, patience, determination, consistency, and discipline. It’s challenging but staying dedicated to these five keys helped me to push through. What do I want the world to know? I’m on my way!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a huge shoutout to my family, my best friends, my Morris Management team, my P.A, my Creative Director, the Vocal Bible (Brandy), and my previous teammates that have helped me to grow in the beginning of my career. All of these lovely souls have played a huge role in helping me to grow, learn, and persevere in this industry. As I continue on in this journey, every last one of them still play a huge role in my life to keep me moving forward.
