Meet Khaleeqa Williams | Owner of Unapologetically Natural A Candle/Aromatherapy Company

We had the good fortune of connecting with Khaleeqa Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Khaleeqa, what is the most important factor behind your success?
This is a wonderful question, for me, there would be three tenants that create the most important factor for my business. The three tenants would be purpose, passion, and perseverance, the combination of these encompasses the most important factor behind my success. Purpose is key due to being faith-based, my faith is the cornerstone of my business. I’m a firm believer that when you’re walking in purpose the endeavors that you engage in have a greater likelihood of succeeding. Understanding the purpose of Unapologetically Natural by Khaleeqa and understanding my purpose helps me to keep going during difficult times and keeps me humble during times of success. The second tenant of passion is extremely important due to my personal belief that it is hard to prosper in something that you aren’t passionate about due to the inclination to simply stop when you encounter a difficulty. Unapologetically Natural by Khaleeqa is part of what pushes me each day, I wake up thinking of how I can improve my products, better serve my customer base and ensure that the UNBYKB experience is one that impacts each customer in a positive manner leaving them feeling valued and appreciated. The last tenant of major importance is perseverance, within business trials and tribulations come to dissuade us from continuing. Without a commitment to the business, one starts it will be easy to walk away, with this in mind I constantly keep perseverance at the front of my mind. Through the journey of growing my business during each trial, I learned to gain knowledge and wisdom for those moments which allow me to better manage my business. To anyone out there just starting a business, I would refer to a familiar phrase race is not given to the swift but to those that endure to the end, no matter what obstacle you encounter believe in yourself, your business, and keep pushing.

Unapologetically Natural by Khaleeqa is a black-owned Candle/Aromatherapy product company based out of Raleigh, North Carolina. Unapologetically Natural by Khaleeqa is a company committed to being innovative, reliable, and driven by integrity. The cornerstone of our company is service to our customers, with an emphasis on ensuring that customer experience is included in every stage of the creation process for products. As a consumer of goods like everyone else, I believe we all value where we spend our money, which reinforces my commitment to having customers feel like they are always getting their money’s worth.

As an operating principle at Unapologetically Natural by Khaleeqa, we thrive on ensuring that we offer items that are products that are crafted with ingenuity at the core. To differentiate Unapologetically Natural by Khaleeqa I engaged with a vessel company to acquire vessels that weren’t in wide use within the local area. A true point of difference between my company and others is that we use primarily soy wax for our products. This distinction is a major one because of the added benefits to the customer by purchasing soy wax candles, these benefits included the luxury of knowing that with our candle they will get maximal burn time. The second benefit is having confidence that while burning a candle from Unapologetically Natural by Khaleeqa they won’t have to worry about the candle affecting any allergies because the wax burns cleaner. This allows our candles to be both therapeutic and good for the environment. Lastly, I would say a fact that sets my candle company apart from some others is the attention to detail spent ensuring that my labels support awareness causes such as Alzheimer’s, breast cancer, Juneteenth, as well as labels for the applicable seasons of the year.

I’m proud of all the endeavors that I have undertaken with Unapologetically Natural by Khaleeqa and the products I have created. If I had to choose one thing that I’m proudest of it would be my extensive candle selection. Often during events, I will hear from multiple customers “I wish I could buy all of these because they all smell so amazing”. Even after hearing this line quite a few times, it fills my heart with joy every time it is said because it reaffirms for me that my customer base really see the value in what Unapologetically Natural by Khaleeqa is bringing to the table within the Aromatherapy industry. When an avid customer of a major candle company brand told me that they switched completely over to using Unapologetically Natural by Khaleeqa products I realized that I had truly etched out a spot for myself within the market place and the feeling was elating. The feeling of having the customer leave an encounter with Unapologetically Natural by Khaleeqa fully satisfied give me fuel to go even harder to ensure that each customer experiences that feeling.

Unapologetically Natural by Khaleeqa specializes in everything aromatherapy!!!! Currently, within the Unapologetically Natural by Khaleeqa, we hold a vast array of products ranging from candles to incense, to wax melts, t-shirts, and even coffee mugs. All our products are made with all-natural soy wax and clean essential oils which gives each customer the benefit of wonderfully scented products that burns cleanly. I also specialize in creating customized wax melts that permit customers the opportunity to enjoy great fragrances and also allow them to wow their guests with innovative wax melt shapes. During this spring and summer, I offered wax melts molded in the shape of my favorite flower a sunflower, and got amazing feedback from my customers. Many customers often provide wonderful feedback on how my wax melts have been conversation starters between my customers and their friends.

Yes,I feel that every business owner needs a solid team who contributes to their success.
