We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenn and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kenn, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is staying true to myself. One of my inspirations, Bryson Tiller, says this numerous times in his work. As I started making music I was so caught up on sounding like the people who inspired me to sing, but people can always see through something when it’s not authentic. It wasn’t until I started just being myself, that’s when I started finding an audience. It’s a life motto for me now as I work on finding my sound and becoming a more versatile artist.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
It wasn’t easy at all. It took a lot of trial and error when first putting myself out there. To overcome, it took a lot of sitting back, reflecting and thinking about the type of artist I want to be in the industry. I learned along my journey to not stop trying and to stay consistent. I just would like the world to know that my mission with music is strictly to create and express the feelings I have when making a song. I want the world to feel the emotion and vibe with each song I put out. That’s my overall goal.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Surprisingly since moving to ATL back in 2020, I really haven’t been out much. The few times I have been out I enjoyed being at The Battery, going to Lenox Mall and being at Atlantic Station is always a vibe too.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give recognization to my friend Kevin Rodriguez, also known as 4TYEIGHT. He taught me a lot of the things I know and understand about music now. He also mixed and mastered a lot of my songs that are currently out now.
