We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcus Goodman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marcus, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to be another knowledgeable father. I decided to continue to dream in order for my daughter to keep dreaming. I wanted to give my daughter a visual of a black man succeeding. I wanted to speak generational wealth with progressive actions behind it. Starting my own business allowed me to do so.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The GoodGuy brand allows me to be of service to the community. Through media the GoodGuy podcast gives the state of SC an outlet for promoting and advertising as well as given informative information. Shining light on local artist, actors comedians as well as Interviewing some of most interesting people in the world. From NFL players to professional counselors I explore their story. through GoodGuy vending we provide snacks, drinks and fresh food. it’s giving people what they want, when and where they want it to allow your workplace to go smoothly as possible. what set us apart is the close relationships we have with our customers and business partners. we take pride in maintaining great communication as well as service. Along our journey one of the many lesson i have learned is that a loss is not a loss. A loss is simply something you learn from. I want the world to know that the GoodGuy brand is for the people of everyday living. Creating a space to allow people to show their talents is truly what i’m most proud of. having the fearless thought process to see things through is the driving force to my story.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The Greenville area is a great place to eat and drink with wonderful five star
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my father. ( Tony Anthony Quinn Goodman). thank you for giving me such an amazing gift. Shoutout to Robert Kiyosaki the author of Rich Dad Poor Dad. the book truly changed my life. Shoutout to the wonderful late great James Baldwin. His words allowed me to keep dreaming. Last but not least, my wife for continuous support in all my endeavors.
