Hi Meeka, how do you think about risk?
When it comes to being an Entrepreneur, you must be willing to take risk. I remember working my retail job and wanting to quit everyday I walked in the doors. Till one day I decide to no longer live in fear of the unknown and began to walk into my purpose.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My name is Meeka Lewis and I am a makeup artist who specializes in soft glam and bridal makeup. What sets me apart from others is that I am very relatable and I love to create relationships with my clients. Each and every one of my clients are super important to me and I am so grateful to have built the clientele that I have. When I was in cosmetology school my educators would always express how important it is to take care of your clients and really service them. That really stuck with me throughout the years and has helped me be the makeup artist I am today!!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Birmingham has a lot of hidden gems in the city!! For drinks Paper Doll is so cute and I love the atmosphere! Cayo Coo’s Cuban/ Latin cuisine is amazing. If you are wanting the night life scene we have options. Hush Lounge, Cassanova, 3000 bar, Saferoom and Sleek are all place you can go get a drink, listen to music and have a great time out with friends!!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family and friends are definitely my biggest motivators!! They would always tell me how amazing of a makeup artist I am and to pursue my dreams. Their motivation helped make my transition a little easier!!
