We had the good fortune of connecting with Elizabeth Covington and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elizabeth, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risks taking has played a major role in my career. For starters I have been battling cancer and other sicknesses for 20+ years. With the odds against me I still decided to step out on faith and open a hair salon, which has happened to be one of the best decisions/risks I have ever made.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The thing I would say that I am most proud about is opening my own salon and being able to have my daughter as my business partner as well. To get where I am today, I never gave up. Regardless of what I went through I kept pushing, working hard and praying because I knew one day I was going to accomplish my dream and I did just that. My advice to the world is to never give up no matter what you are faced with in life.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So, me and my best friend have been friends for over 30+ years so everything is fun to us when we are together lol. Our favorite thing to do is eat, so we would definitely go eat and try out a lot of food spots, also go get a massage and just relax.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would definitely say God, my children, family & friends. They have all played a major part in my life and have helped me become the person that I am today. From the beginning of my journey they have always believed in me and been very supportive.
