We had the good fortune of connecting with Randyman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Randyman, how do you think about risk?
You won’t grow without taking risks.
You can’t be truly happy or achieve your highest goals without taking risks.
You will not fulfill your purpose in life without stepping outside your comfort zone and most importantly you’ll never know what you are capable of if you give in to fear, uncertainty, and doubt.
Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I create what I like to call vocal pictures. It’s like Picasso painting pictures, but these pictures are for the mind and imagination.
The thing that sets me apart is I don’t follow trends, I set them. Right now if you listen to the state of hip hop and how it’s evolving into where it’s at now you’ll see what sets me apart.
Hmm let’s see what I’m most proud of has to be the grind and getting everything out the mud. I never took any short cuts to get to where I’m at now this is how I’ve learned the ins and outs of the music business.
I got to where I’m at today by staying consistent, networking, and learning from failure and no it wasn’t easy because most time failing at something can have an affect on your mind which can cause you to slack off on your goals. Some people play the game and lose and never want to play again and that’s the mindset you never ever want to get stuck in.
You overcome by keep going and ignoring the feeling of failure, while paying attention to what and how you failed and using that as a learning tool.
Some of the lessons I’ve learned is that consistency is key and it’s okay to jump out of your comfort zone.
A few things I would like the world to know is. Get used to the name Randyman and WorldJam MusicGroup. We are what most of you have been waiting on and my first Grammy is going to be dedicated to you because without you the paintings I’m giving you is just a treasure locked away under 4 billion voices. Seek and you shall find.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We definitely would be checking out Clermont Lounge, Compound, STK, 10 Degrees South, Bone Lick BBQ, Magic City, The Georgia Aquarium, can’t forget about Medusa Restaurant & Lounge and also Blue Ivory Night Club.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I definitely would like to shoutout my fans who have be riding with me. My family and friends whom have supported me since day one and the media, blogs, etc that have opened there arms to me.
