We had the good fortune of connecting with ANTHONY FINCH and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi ANTHONY, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Controlling ones mindset is the main principle I follow. This is important to me because our thoughts consistently changes. Whatever we allow to control our thought process will control how with function in life. If we constantly find problems in our daily life, it will hinder us from growth or success.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is a men’s skincare line that focuses on natural and organic products that not only helps nourish their skin, but also enhances their appearance. What sets my business apart from others is my authenticity because my goal is to target professional middle-age black men. I am most proud that I have the support of my family while venturing out doing my own business. The most important thing to me is to believe in myself and to acknowledge my skills and make sure I attain everything I wish for regarding my business. I believe I have gotten to where I am because I take the advice of others and I make sure my priorities are in order. Learning and listening to other successful entrepreneurs has the possibility to change your life. Knowledge is power and you never know what the next person knows. I have overcome the challenges of owning my own business by being very present in the moment. I personally have hand picked out the models for my business, also customizing and working with various manufacturing for achieve the type of products I wanted. Being an entrepreneur is not easy and I have been taught a lot of lesson while on this journey. With that, I have learned to be persistent and dedicated when it comes to my business and trying to make it everything, I have dream. I want the world to know that Cognac Blac is an exclusively men’s skincare line made from researched verified ingredients that are made for men to look healthy, handsome, and confident.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
During my friend’s visit, I would start with downtown Chicago Magnificent Mile area. This area has vibrant, upscale shops, restaurants, and a beautiful lakefront all in one centralized location. We would spend a day visiting Navy Pier where could ride the ferry wheel and see the beautiful layout of Michigan Avenue and later ride bikes around the lake front on Lakeshore Drive. We would have to stop by the Cheesecake Factory for a nice meal and late that day grab a box of Garret’s Popcorn. Somewhere in the visit, we would have to go to Steak 48 to catch up on old memories and enjoy first class food and service. The skyline of Chicago is extremely beautiful, part of that beauty is the historical buildings like the Chicago Water Tower if he wants to indulge in luxury store shopping, the former home of the first black magazine, the Ebony &Jet building, the Willis Tower which offering spectacular views of four states, an interactive exhibit and a glass ledge to see the city below, and a visit would not be complete with a visit to the John Hancock Center, which has a rooftop observation deck with fine dining and panoramic city views. If time allows, we could to a visit to the Shredd Aquarium and the Art Institute.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A shoutout must go to my wife, LaToya and my kids Antwann, Antrice, Charles and Serenity. They inspire and motivate me t keep pushing and because of them I’m trying to leave a legacy. The men of Alpha Phi Alpha Inc. for been examples of strong men of great leadership.
