We had the good fortune of connecting with Adam Hagy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adam, why did you pursue a creative career?
Originally I wanted to be an architect and design buildings or structures, growing up I would make blueprints for fun. However that dream was short lived when I discovered my aptitude for precise math did not measure up to what it takes to become an engineer. I knew I wanted to do something different, but among all the various paths I took nothing set my passions ablaze more so then photography. After my first taste of it I couldn’t get enough and there was no looking back. I had found my passion and I would spend the better part of a decade grinding it out, making many sacrifices to make this a sustainable career.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Sports photography is like a Swiss-Army knife, everyone in the industry generally has the same tools, but i’m always looking to add new features and sharpen the tools that I have. meaning I pride myself in trying to get better, never settle and always be open to learn new techniques and adapt different styles to create a better end product. I have set my standards high and my goal is to be one of the Industries best, I have a really long way to go but the fun is in the journey.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Hands down were going golfing at where ever we can get the best deal, that’s my itinerary.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost God, for He shut doors in my face to make sure I didnt get off track. Bob Rosato for giving me my first job and taste of sports, John David Mercer for teaching me how to consistently make pictures, Kevin Liles for teaching me how to make money do all this stuff, and every Sports photographer in Atlanta that makes this city feel like home! Also cant forget my Wife , Brittany, who puts up with me working weird hours and most weekends, Love ya.
