We had the good fortune of connecting with Erica Mobley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erica, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to create a space that would make people feel good! A place where you could come to relax while receiving the ultimate SELF-Care Experience. We get so caught up in our daily routines, and tend to forget about our personal needs. I was so excited to combine my love for the medical field and the beauty industry. Seeing my clients leave with amazing energy and feeling good about themselves is the most rewarding feeling.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
NSane Beauty Lab Cosmetic Spa specializes in Self-Care Experiences. We are known for our relaxing ambiance and luxury treatments. Our contemporary decor and chic floral arrangements are a staple. We pride ourselves on extraordinary customer care through your entire experience. People need environments that are warm and welcoming to recharge. That’s the reason why we have done so well. We service clients from MD, DC, VA, & PA which speaks volumes about the service that we provide. We are grateful that our clients love us enough to travel that distance. Consistency is has helped the spa to grow continuously. We are always researching and continuing to educate ourselves on new treatments and techniques. We are super excited that we will be introducing our Self-Care Essentials Product Line for the holiday season!!! Which will include Vegan Aroma Therapy Soaps, Bath Bombs, and Candles. Starting a business takes a lot of work mentally, physically, and financially. It’s not always easy but it’s completely worth it. I’m overwhelmed with joy when I think about how I started and how far I’ve come. I provided service for my first Teeth Whitening client in my home office. Then the pandemic hit and everything was at a standstill. I was brainstorming and practicing my techniques between my shifts at the hospital so that I would stay focused. When the CDC opened the malls I signed my lease for my first rental suite in June 2020. Then I took courses and added more services for Body Contouring & Post-Op Cosmetic Care. My clientele skyrocketed. I was able to resign from the hospital and work for myself full time. By June of. 2021 I expanded my business to a two story loft style location in Downtown Baltimore to better accommodate my growing client base. We provide various treatments for Hair, Nails, Brows, Lashes, Teeth Whitening, and Body Contouring such as Laser Lipo, Cavitation, Lymphatic Drainage Massages, Detox Sauna Treatments, & More!!! The process has shown me that consistency is key and pure intentions and kindness will open doors for you.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Baltimore is known for good seafood. We would go to Nick’s Fish House for crabs, mussels, oysters, and wings!!! I love museums so the Baltimore Museum Of Art and The Walters Art Museum are always on my list of things to do. There are so many hidden gems like for brunch, music, and a good time. Some of my favorites are Duck Duck Goose, The Civil, EDR, Papi Cuisine, Blue Moon Too., Avenue Kitchen & Bar, 13.5% Wine, The Charleston, Tagliata, and so many more.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to acknowledge my son Chase-Alexander and my life partner Javon for encouraging me and support every goal. I appreciate how patient they are when it comes to having to share me with my business and assisting when it’s needed. I also want to Thank my clients for their continuous support. The overwhelming amount of love is out of this world!!! There have been so many bonds made within our space. I want to give a special thank you to my team.
