We had the good fortune of connecting with Westside Hardy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Westside, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting off being a rapper, everyone wants what’s in your pockets, I was giving out so much financially and physically, I thought I should just purchase my own equipment and be self sufficient, that way I didn’t have to wait on anyone spend money or let someone take creative control over anything that “I create” after research and study and some what mastering videography and music recording, I thought I should help give back to creators and artist who was having the same type problems, offering services with a lower budget and hell sometimes free! Because the dream and the passion don’t pay my bills

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
This has been a complete journey, I mean starting off so young I made a lot of crucial mistakes rocking with folks who really don’t rock with me, trusting folks when they only really want to use you. I get it ! It’s business you can’t let it get to you personally because it will ultimately jeopardize your character, my brother Tavares always told me watch them “I see something about them I don’t like” of course I would say “chill” but he was right, challenges are just challenges you got to beat them, I know what I have and what folks want I completely cherish it now, I bring a raw quality that’s not watered down or stepped on, that’s with Music Recording &videography, when I create for myself or others I take a lot of things into consideration, I want nothing to look the same, sound the same or feel the same but the most important thing is appeasing the crowd myself or who I’m creating for make them transfer all their focus and energy to what I created ! I want no commercial to look like any other commercial or sound to sound like any other sound !

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I have to be honest my house, lol I’m at a point now honestly the most important thing to me is a piece of mind family and creating! But, don’t get me wrong when you pull up I’m the best BBQ chef in the city! Chicken wings, pull pork, links, whatever ! And ribs to die for ! Lol but seriously I’m so focused and busy I rarely go out at this point I feel as if there is nothing to celebrate yet, tons of work to do so yea, if family or friends do decide to come over “if they are true family and friends” they already know what I’m on I’ll sit on my IMAC for hours ! but sometimes like once every 2 to 3 months I will pull up at my favorite bar Limelight and grab some cold beer and lemonyaki wings, I spent to much time in the streets it’s time to get busy

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Through the process my wife Kiara walker has been my true backbone like always, like she is my wife and I’m her husband but that’s my Dawg for sure! Lol, if I have a idea I’ll tell my self that sounds “crazy don’t it” and she will almost get mad at me saying things in the line of “don’t ever doubt yourself” “I’ve seen you accomplish things way harder then that” “don’t let nobody tell you, you can’t do it”, as a black man in the world today trying to make it in this world that’s the type of love drive and motivation you need.
