We had the good fortune of connecting with Selena Weinert and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Selena, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
I can honestly say that my end goal is for the world to be aware of and appreciate all the creativity I bring to the table. I was never in this creative field to be rich. That was never my end goal. Yes, of course you need money to survive and if financial abundance comes from my creative endeavors, I’ll gladly take it. I would love for someone to see a photo I take, or listen to a song I produce, or a video that I edit, or a brand that I bring to life and acknowledge that it is “me” Selena (SMW Creations). So professionally I would love to be well known for all the great visuals and music that I put out here in the world.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My name is Jarvis Evans I’m a singer, songwriter and producer and I was born in Miami Florida in 1986. Singing has always been a passion of mines since the age of 4. I am most proud that I never gave up my drive to be successful and in turn as many doors have open I never threw the towel in when some have closed. I have matured and polished my gift as I have such a different style and originality to bring to the table in the arena of RNB mixed with a bit of Pop which are my favorite genres to sing.. My musical journey has not been an easy one but I’ve managed to pave my way being that I grew up as a jazz singer performing the likes of Toney Bennet, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and other Jazz Legends. Jazz vocal techniques and the skills ive gained as a live performer singing such amazing standards has given me a unique sound to the ear of the listener which sets me a part from the rest but also very relatable. I overcame so many obstacles by learning that listening is key when growing in the music field and learning as much as I could on the business end as well. Self belief and confidence can take you extremely far as is need on every journey not just music. After my amazing short live journey as a finalist on American Idol Seasons 9 & 10 I’ve learned to be myself always, go within, listen to my inner voice and keep focused on every bump and turn as you go and glow up. I want America to know I have not given up but im back as the best version of myself that i can be in and out the studio and stage. I have a new single thats streaming on all platforms called “Relight Your Fire” that everyone seems to really really like.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my friend came in town for a week there would never be a time of rest lol. First thing in the A.M. would be a short jog to get our blood pumping and a organic wheat grass smoothie from whole foods. For breakfast we would go to cracker barrel because of the variety of tasty breakfast and brunch food they have. Now its time for a dip in the water so we would go to Roswell Mill Falls in Georgia and learn a little from the historical sites and swim under the waterfall while we enjoy the sun. Later as we head home its music time id be interested in working on some music or listening to it to a nice glass of wine as we get ready to hit the night life in the city for a studio session, club lounge or cinema. Each day would be an adventure because instead of cramming it all in one day we could spread it out and also do some cookoffs at the house. My favorite food to cook and eat is seafood so my skills in the kitchen will be put to use sooner or later.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have a very good friend named Damien and I can honestly say that he has had so much faith and encouragement for my journey. I have to give him a big SHOUT OUT for believing in me and pushing me past the disappointments in different relationships. His loyalty and dedication to me is unmatched. I will forever be grateful to him and his encouragement.
