We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason H. Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jason H., we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I got laid off from my last two jobs. At that point, a few things about my relationship with corporate became painfully clear to me. The two companies were acting in their best interests and I felt like I was working harder for someone else’s dreams than my own. I figured that if I could work hard for someone else, I can definitely work hard for myself. While receiving the severance payments I decided to invest in myself. I paid to take classes to get my Real Estate license and I started The 710 Print Shop to make merchandise for my podcast that I’ve been doing for the last 4 years. I went from making merchandise for myself to taking orders.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I feel like my ability to learn from my failures sets me apart from others. Fortunately, I’ve failed a lot, but I’ve also learned a lot along the way. I’ve learned to adapt to situations that I don’t have much experience with. My time in South Korea taught me a lot about the world and myself. The thing that I’ve learned along the way was that good or bad, there are no wasted experiences. My brand is built off of those experiences. Whenever anyone has any type of interaction with me, they are getting the authentic me 100% of the time.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A few places to eat that I would take them would include all healthy places like Vortex, JJ Chicken & Fish, El Porton, and Grub Southern Style. As far as getting out and having a great time…. Atlanta Comedy Theatre always delivers a great comedy experience. Atlantic Station, Avalon, and the Battery are also at the top of the list of places that I enjoy taking people depending on what type of vibe they are looking for. As a huge sports fan, any of the Atlanta sports venues would provide a great experience.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My wife has been crucial in my success due to her always being supportive of all that I do. Well, almost all. My family keeps me grounded but is always behind me when it’s time for a new endeavor. I love them dearly…. My co-hosts past and present, along with the guests of the 710 Slickville Show all deserve a special shoutout.
