As a child, I spent a great deal of time with my grandparents while my parents both worked full time. My grandpa grew up in a very small town in South Carolina and went on to be an airplane mechanic, traveling the world with the U.S. Air Force. He exudes this very unique, very calming sense of wisdom that always resonated with me. One of his favorite sayings is “if it is to be, it must be me.” In other words, if something important needs to be done or said, you can’t sit back and wait for someone else to handle it. All it takes is one sale or one painting to keep the business going. All it takes is one person to love what I do. All it takes is one brushstroke to finish a piece. All it takes is one painting to put a smile on someone’s face or bring them to tears. All it takes is one person’s support. This being a business that is in the creative field, it’s important to remember that it’s not all about a million sales and a million pieces getting done (although it is nice). It’s really about appreciating the small things and people. And just as important, is the quality of these things and people. This is also why I want to continue to make quality work. Read more>>

My favorite quote, “The future rewards those who press on. I don’t have time to feel sorry for myself. I don’t have time to complain. I’m going to press on.”~ Barack Obama This affirmation and/or quote is one of inspiration to me. It’s a reminder to stay focus, be intentional and continue in forward motion. Read more>>
