We had the good fortune of connecting with Carnika Boyd and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carnika, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
Trust the process. It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s always worth it. I had to adapt the mindset of doing everything with intentions, because without having intention with your life, life will take you where it wants to take you instead of where you need to be going.

I’m health & fitness coach, I help people lose weight, gain weight, increase energy, and earn income. I’ve been doing this for about 3 years now. If it wasn’t for covid-19 putting me in an uncomfortable predicament, I wouldn’t be where I am today. As the world was closing down I had a 10 month son and I didn’t know how I was going to be able to provide for him, but this business opportunity I was presented 3 years ago came in handy. Nobody could go outside, causing everybody to eat, sleep, eat some more, and sleep some more. I wanted to be the change they needed. When you have nothing to do, why not focus on your health. A lot of times we want stuff to come easy and label it as hard, but that’s not the case. We just have to appreciate the work put in to enjoy the outcome. What sets me apart from others is the fact that I have genuine relationships with most of my clients and I’m able to be the reason they’re confident in their health and body. I am most proud about opening up a location and inspiring others to take that same step. The lessons I’ve learned along the way is that most people won’t see the vision and that’s ok. Work hard for everything you want and give yourself permission to be great. My brand is me and I am my brand!!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Me and my best friends love being home, so most of the time we would probably drink wine and smoke hookah, lol homebodies. We love to eat so we would probably visit eating places like Mojave, Stoney River, Atlanta Breakfast Club, Flying Biscuit, Buttermilk Kitchen, etc. Majority of the time we’re trying to take a vacation. We have passports, so flying out the country is the goal.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my turning point to my son, Carter Edwards. I’ve never wanted to make anyone more proud than you. You are the reason for my growth. You are my purpose. I would like to recognize my parents, Palecia & Carnell Boyd. You guys have been in my corner whether you saw my vision or not, but the support has been unmatched. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for you! Thank you to my siblings, they are my best friends and we’ve been thicker than glue since birth.
