We had the good fortune of connecting with Natasha Cecil and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Natasha, why did you pursue a creative career?
I like to think that an artistic career picked me Instead of me picking it. Being a creative person is something that I have lost control over. I find myself creativity in every aspect of life. Starting with the clothes that someone wears, the hairstyles they choose, full makeup application or choosing to go bare face with gloss and mascara. In my eyes all are considered art. Regardless of whatever career path I have taken throughout my life I have always found a way to incorporate my own unique style and to show case creativity.
I then learned that I could enhance others creative side through using their face as a canvas to showcase my art and to increase their confidence. So pursuing an artistic career is something that I feel I was destined to do And I have enjoyed every moment of it.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My work is for everyone, because beauty is for everyone. Not just one look, or one technique. I strive to stretch my talent across the spectrum. It is important for me to highlight and showcase a wide variety of beauty from all different ages, ethnicities and skin types. I look to create for the individual and enhance their beauty. I am my most proud when I see the look on a client’s face of joy from something that I have created, I love being able to transform people. Showing individuals how much fun it is to play with your features and enhance yourself. One of the things that I have learned during my time as a makeup artist is that it is important for your client to trust you must build a report. It is important that not only you love what you do but that you continue to educate yourself and expand your knowledge to ensure that you are contributing to art. I love being a part of the vast makeup community, this gives me so many individuals to look up to and one which inspires others to follow their passion. I have learned the importance of trusting your process and timing. It has been a challenge at times to stand out amongst the rising number of artist in the field today, however I encourage artist to just continue to create. Stay true to your craft and love what you do. Tyshanell Make-up Artistry encourages creativity and passion.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents have always been my biggest supporters.. In August 2020 I lost my Father to cancer and my world changed forever. I am a Daddy’s Girl and my father was my biggest supporter and cheerleader. My father showed me the importance of faith & strong work ethic. He always believed in me and in my vision, he instilled in me the power of prayer and the importance of keeping God First.
