We had the good fortune of connecting with Patience Kaysee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Patience, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted professional independence to work on cases and with clients that I chose. As a young mother with young children, I also needed the flexibility to set my own schedule so that I can be with them as much as possible. Lastly, I wanted to help people find efficient solutions and provide quality legal services to everyone from low income and small business owners to high earners and CEOs.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart is that my clients are people to me with individual problems and individual solutions. I always try to provide the best legal options for them that will provide the best solutions. I am most proud when my clients provide positive reviews and feedback. I also love it when clients tell me what I did wrong, what they did not like and how I can improve my service to them. This helps me develop and grow and make changes where needed. I have learned that I may not be able to help everyone that approaches me but I can help them find someone or resources that can help them. I have also learned that I cannot do everything, for everyone, all the time and that it is important to take breaks and breath. I want people to know that I am truly concerned about their issues, that I am honest and that I have their best interests at heart. What helps me daily is to write down a to-do list and schedule everything on my calendar so that I prioritize what needs to be done and stay ahead of things.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my best friend and I are together, we mostly just like to talk and spend time exploring. So, we would likely go out to eat at a seafood restaurant, go to a movie, and do some sort of fun activity like bowling or miniature golf.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to always give a shoutout to my husband, mother, family and close friends for their support and encouragement. But, outside of those I know personally, I would like to give a shoutout to two Facebook groups that have helped me in my journey as a solo practitioner. Maximum Lawyer and Lady Boss Lawyer are Facebook groups that I am a member of. In these groups, attorneys share professional and legal advice, words of encouragement and just general support. I enjoy the positive attitudes among the attorneys and how they can relate to the same things that I deal with and offer solutions.
