We had the good fortune of connecting with Tianna Smith; Tasha Stewart; Maurice Price N/A and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tianna Smith; Tasha Stewart; Maurice Price, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind our success is our family of supporters. The people who become a part of our movement are steadfast, vibrant, and just as passionate about SOS as we are. We wouldn’t be where we are today without the love and support of our SOS Family.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets Success Over Suicide apart from others is our genuine passion and love for people. Often times we are ridiculed for selling merchandise. People presume that we are attempting to make a profit from suicide. What people don’t realize is we have sponsored numerous events where we set up shop and didn’t make a dime. Were we bothered by this? Not in the least. We have had so many earth-shattering, life-altering, conversations with people. We’ve laughed with strangers, we’ve cried, we’ve debated, we’ve exchanged contact information and formed new relationships. And THAT is what we live for. If we sell a shirt or two, great. However our main purpose, our sole goal is to CONNECT with our fellow men and women. We got to where we are today by remaining resilient and flourishing in the present. We’ve certainly had hiccups along the way, but what’s a rollercoaster without the ups and downs? We have embraced every part of our journey and that is why we continue to come out on top. We want the world to know, that these feelings of doubt, frustration, sadness, and anger, are normal. We all personally resonate with those emotions and have felt them time and time again. However, things can always get better. There is hope.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d definitely start at Piedmont Park. Piedmont Park is colorful, diverse, and composed of nothing but good vibes. Then we’d walk the streets of Downtown Atlanta. We might stop by Vortex or Negril Village for a bite to eat and some drinks. Then we’d go wherever the wind blows us, there’s always something fun and exciting to do in Atlanta!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We’d like to shoutout our SOS Family. Whether you sent us a direct message on Instagram, had a conversation with us at a Workshop/Vendor Event, or bought some of our merchandise online, we would not be here without you. We love and appreciate everyone who has shared energy with us, and we are eternally indebted to you.
