I think I was always meant to pursue a creative career, even if it didn’t feel obvious at first. Growing up, I lived in very different cultural environments—Muscat, then Chennai, and now Atlanta—and each place shaped me in its own way. At home, I came from a very traditional family that held on tightly to its roots, while outside, I was constantly exposed to new perspectives, languages, and ways of living. I believe parenting is a continuous cycle that should grow stronger with each generation. With every new phase, we gain more wisdom, perspective, and clarity; not just about life, but about how our own upbringing shaped us. I’ve become more intentional in recognizing what I lacked or needed as a child, and I try to give my children what I wish I had, while also teaching them to build upon what I was able to give. One of the habits that’s helped me most is making time for passion projects. As creatives, it’s easy to feel stuck in routines, whether at school or a 9-to-5. I’ve always been wanting to make a career out of something I love to do and that is making movies and music. Everyday I am inspired by something that makes me want to put up either a camera and start filming or pick up a mic and start recording. If it wasn’t those two, I would probably edit or draw something. Since I was 6 years old, I always wanted to start a career in the entertainment industry.
