We were fortunate to catch up with some brilliant artists, creatives and entrepreneurs from throughout the Houston area and they share the wisdom with us below.

I do! It’s actually a verse from the Bible. Isaiah 60:22, “when the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen.”
It’s both a reminder and motivator for me. As a creative, at times you can feel like nothing is working or nothing is sticking and gaining traction. I actually found out about this verse when I just started creating content but I never applied it to the area of my life. Read More>>

To me, success is defined by trust. I feel honored when clients feel they can trust my company whole-heatedly with their pets. Watching their pets greet us at the door and beginning to trust my team always brings a smile to my face. Building this community in Atlanta with both clients and pet sitters, that share a mutual understanding of the type of pet care that their furry family members should receive is something I will always be proud of. The single most important decision I made that contributed to my success—beyond choosing to work for myself—was fully involving God in my journey and giving Him all the credit. For a long time, my photography business was slow. I only had a handful of shoots—mostly family and, for a while, some work with my church. Then came a season where my family was hit hard with back-to-back financial obligations: tuition, car repairs, plumbing issues, insurance, utilities—you name it. I was overwhelmed and started to question if I’d made a mistake pursuing photography full-time. Read More>>

I have had an interest in writing most of my life. Throughout my career as a musician playing in lots of different bands, I have been involved in songwriting, mostly lyrics. In more recent years, I became an author. I have written five books of my own, and have had essays published in various magazines, anthologies, and collections. In recent years, I formed my own publishing company to expand my offerings by also publishing other authors as well. Read More>>

While I draw inspiration from a variety of sources, I’m most deeply inspired by nature. I was drawn to pottery because our materials come directly from the earth. There’s something grounding about working with clay; it carries the memory of the land, and I try to preserve that in my work. Read More>>

I want inspire people to pursue their dreams and believe in their capabilities, we all have something meaningful to share for the world, and art is a great way to do so. I want my legacy to be a path of inspiration, I’m from Costa Rica, which is a country where corporate work is “the only way to succeed”, artists are not really taken seriously around here, so I want to be an example for my people and allow them to believe that art is also a way to succeed, it is not only about the money but most importantly the impact you make in others lives. I want to help Costa Rican artists to share their art and vision to the world. Read More>>

I have experienced my most genuine happiness while I’m in creative spaces. I enjoy getting to use creative problem solving and the mental and emotional stimulation that comes with it. Even if the pressure is high whether it be a deadline or carrying multiple projects I find that the stress becomes more of a challenge and motivator rather than a hinderance. Read More>>

What truly makes me happy is living out my purpose, which, to me, means making a meaningful, lasting impact on people. I believe each of us has a unique way of doing that, shaped by the talents we’ve been given.
For me, my purpose centers around the power of voice and presence. I fulfill it by hosting events, serving as an emcee, and speaking publicly. Whether it’s energizing a wedding reception, guiding a school program, or engaging a corporate audience, I focus on keeping people captivated and informed. Read More>>

Most people think that we only train dogs, however, we train people alongside their dogs and help them to become leaders. All dogs need a leader, just like all dogs need training, because they are driven by pack instincts. Our primary focus is strengthening the relationship between dogs and their owners, helping them to become one through obedience training. Without obedience, you have nothing. Read More>>

Work Life balance: for me the order is life work balance. I take my life very seriously and practice self-care routine daily. I am here as a demonstration on how soft life can be and work should be enjoyable. I am a professional napper which means I nap every single day. I am an early riser and enjoy my start of the day routine, where I pray, blessed myself, listen to binary music and journal before I sip my tea. I am full of energy and prefer a slow morning before I get my children ready for the day. Read More>>
