We had the good fortune of connecting with Sultan Zeshan.  and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sultan, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
Yes, I do have a favorite quote which is my daily affirmation, my mantra that resonantes most with my journey. “The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he’s always doing both”. The quote has many meanings for me. A few of which I’ll share. The journey that I am on is like a symphony with various multiple instruments playing together in harmony forming a well crafted orchestra piece; the art of living. Also the mantra means that there should be no distinction in my work, play, leisure, mind, body, knowledge, recreation, love and religion. The ‘no distinction’ is that these are all blurred together for me. When all of these can be performed together one has achieved true freedom in my opinion. When one truly loves what they do all of these traits are not separated or suppressed. They are all in unison working together. Being free from the madness of juggling multiple personalities that our society forces us to conform too. The status quo would have one believing that these are all separate or should be suppressed. But to me having these work together is liberating. From the quote “…….. living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his love and his religion”. All of these blended together I find easier while traveling on this path of true entrepreneurship. I don’t feel the need to suppress one or the other or wear different masks. This resonates with my business, @atlantabanquets, where my team and I attract people from all over the world to host and attend beautiful one of a kind events crafted make life long impressions on their attendees. I have created my life around my dream of running a successful banquet company; from my time in medical school, to my life changing experiences working at Apple. When my mentor Derek Hammond selected me out of a pool of thousands of applicants for a magical oppurtunity with the company whom my role model, the legendary Steve Jobs, founded and used his vision to enhance the world as we know it. My journey with the entertainment industry is also in full steam. I’ve created a few treatment plans for tv shows and currently pitching to major networks like Fox Soul and The Grio with my business partner, Desiree’ Ross. There are some challenges but with persistence I plan on overcoming them strategically, creatively, and professionally. Like my Syrian brother Steve Jobs, I too am pursuing “visions of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he’s always doing both”. So when others see me playing, I’m actually also working and Vice Versa. Combing an artist and an entrepreneur is a powerful combination and leaves a lot of openness to mis-judgement. “Never judge a book by its cover” should be a quote that needs a comeback in pop culture. Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art or creative Endeavors are for the film and media industry. I have been writing treatments and tv shows for about two years now. It is a struggle to navigate this exclusive ambiguous industry and luckily I have support. I want the world to know that whatever I write or produce will be something that teaches a moral lesson and will open the minds and hearts of others. The art that I come up with will make the world a better place.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting, they usually do, I would first take them to my place of residence. The verified neighborhood of Chateau Elan in Gwinnett County, Georgia. It is a winery and golf resort and I live in the Legends portion of the residence country club. We would do wine tastings at the winery and enjoy brunch at Versailles in the hotel on the property.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
If I started to list out everyone and everything that deserves recognition and credit you would be reading all day. So I’ll keep it simple. The one organization that I would like to give recognition and credit too is  Apple Inc. In particular the individual who helped start my journey with Apple, Derek Hammond.

Derek Hammond is the one who gave me the opportunity to shine by bringing me on board with Apple Inc. within the education & marcom divisions as the  Campus Rep at Louisiana State University.

An opportunity that literally changed my life and geared my motivations towards achieving success while creating positive change. Thank You Derek.

Also my role model Mr. Steve Jobs and my homie Tim Cook for being so innovative and brave and working towards positive change for our world through innovation and great leadership. And of course my wonderful supportive sisters and my beloved parents deserve to be recognized for cheering me on. Without them I wouldn’t be who I am or where I am today.
