We had the good fortune of connecting with Wayne Hauenstein and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Wayne, what do you attribute your success to?
Our slogan is “Unleash Your Talent.” It’s our goal — with each collaboration — to ensure that the solution we’ve created helps maximize employee potential (and effectiveness). We do this by getting to know the client — how they communicate, learn, interact and define success across the organization. Our objective is to truly understand their vision, values, purpose and culture so they feel like we’re a part of the solution. The biggest compliment we could receive is repeat business or a referral from that client. This is a sign that we’ve done something right and they value the relationship we’ve established with them.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are in the Learning & Development business and focus on end-to-end learning solutions. We assist our clients with onboarding and orientation, skill development, high potential programs, formal leadership development and coaching. It is our belief that everything starts with self-awareness. You can’t improve as a communicator, manager, mentor, coach or leader if you aren’t comfortable with who you are. By that, I mean you must be intimately familiar with your strengths and blind spots so you can excel in the areas where you are strong and add complementary pieces to the team to combat the weaker areas. To do this, we have a proprietary assessment that helps gauge one’s communication, coaching and decision-making styles. It is a wonderful tool for both enhancing self-awareness and providing insights into team dynamics. A lesson I’ve learned along the way is to never be idle. You can’t wait on clients or prospects to make decisions or sign contracts. It’s important to constantly be looking for ways to help others. I’m constantly reaching out to my clients and following up with prospects. In addition, I’m always networking and looking for ways to collaborate and partner with others.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many places in Atlanta to eat and be entertained. I am north of the city in Roswell, GA. Up here, we’re known for quaint restaurants, parks and scenery. Pre-COVID, I would take someone visiting out to a nice steak dinner and then to a sporting event. We also have concert halls and comedy venues, depending on the time of year of the visit. With COVID and social distancing being the new normal, I would probably recommend a nice restaurant with live music and an outside patio for drinks and dinner.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I first want to thank the clients we partner with. If it wasn’t for them, we wouldn’t be in business. Our valuable clients over the past few years include: CareMessage, Coca-Cola, Emory Healthcare, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, Invest Atlanta, Leica Geosystems, Southern Company Gas, Structor Group and WOW Motorcycles. In addition, we have collaborated on numerous client projects with both Locomotion Media and TrainingPros with organizations such as Centers for Disease Control, Georgia’s Own Credit Union, Renasant Bank and SunTrust (now Truist). In January, I joined the Small Business Matters Mastermind group hosted by Tim Fulton. We meet weekly to discuss business challenges and opportunities. It has helped tremendously. In addition, Paul Terlemezian, Joe Mancini and Mark Broderick, all fellow entrepreneurs, have been great sounding boards for me.
