We had the good fortune of connecting with Victoria Young and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Victoria, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My family was my main motivation behind starting my business. While I love doing hair and love my clients immensely, I wanted to be in control of my time and my schedule. I am a very hands on parent and I felt that working for other companies did not provide me with the time to be able to get to school functions or get home at a reasonable time at the end of the day. I love how owning my own business affords me the opportunity to do it all!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Alongside my husband, I own The Hair Tour, a boutique salon located in Alpharetta, GA. What sets me apart from most stylists is that I really listen to my clients needs/wants and I educate them on the best options for their hair. Many of my clients are busy moms just like me so I teach them ways to maintain what we do in the salon so if they are unable to make it in frequently, they can still have great hair.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I don’t get out as much as I would like but I love a good restaurant. I recently went to Buena Vida Tapas & Sol. It’s a cute little Spanish restaurant with great food and lots of Instagram worthy photo ops. I also really love Firebirds in Alpharetta. The drinks and food are always amazing. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I owe my success to God and my family. God is with me every moment of everyday & gets me through the toughest of days. God also has given me an amazing and supportive family to lean on. My family is my village, they pitch in so many ways to make sure that my home life and business runs smoothly. I couldn’t be where I am today without them.
