We had the good fortune of connecting with Vernedra Eastern and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vernedra, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Entrepreneurship is not for the weak or timid. It takes a focused and driven individual to overcome the challenges of starting and running a successful business. While there will be both good and bad days, as well as periods of slow growth and financial prosperity, the rewards can be significant for those who are passionate about their venture.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Transforming lives through creativity and compassion, my art is a testament to the power of hope and empowerment. Beginning as a makeup artist, I now create content and inspiring messages that resonate with my clients and empower women and girls. Challenges are opportunities for growth, and my journey is a reminder that perseverance and passion can overcome any obstacle. I strive to be a source of inspiration and support for those pursuing their dreams, and my story is a testament to the power of never giving up. Keep going I’m still excited about the future I can see myself teaching and spreading more light and that’s exciting

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Upon reflecting on my interview experience, I must express my gratitude towards my sister, Shavonne Butler, who co-owns WhiptCosmetics with me. Her unwavering encouragement and belief in our potential has been a driving force behind our success. As we prepare to relaunch our lip gloss line, our focus remains on creating a legacy that will have a lasting impact on our 16 children and future generations. I am honored to be embarking on this journey alongside such a remarkable individual.
