We had the good fortune of connecting with Twin Mally and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Twin Mally, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m from west Baltimore. Whitelock to be more specific, and it made me who I am today. That along with the love of my mother, and making my own mistakes along the way made me strong as I can be. I feel as though I am able to last and adapt to any atmosphere I find myself in because of those things alone.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Well most people would like to say I’m a rapper, but I prefer a “artist”. I just feel like I have much more range than most rappers. I feel like I create within myself but I also take the time to study music and dissect some of the greatest sounds ever created. I wouldn’t say getting to the points I’ve gotten to in the lane I’m in was easy but I don’t necessarily feel like it’s hard either because I’m just being myself. Within being myself, I’m also finding myself as well. I believe that trial and error is the best experience there is and I know for a fact I get better with timing. I pay attention to detail in everything and I adapt. When it’s all said and done, I want the world to know that I’m the one, whether you notice it today, tomorrow or 50 years from now. If you ever get to experience Twin, I’m the one and I can show and prove at any chance that I get.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well I’m from Baltimore lol but I happen to spend a lot of time in Atlanta. My first recommendation is American deli. When you go, you gotta grab the honey hot wings with lemon pepper sprinkles (extra crispy if you like me). That’s the first order of business, don’t do anything else until you do that and then after you do that, come back and see me for the next step. I can’t give all the game in one session.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Nehemiah, my son, my hero. I love you and everything I do is for you and for your future. I got your back in the events that you’re right and I’ll hold you down in the events that you’re wrong. Love and loyalty. My heart is with you.
