We had the good fortune of connecting with Tristan Searles and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tristan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to open a carwash; however, to start small and break into the business I decided to begin a mobile detailing service. I really like washing cars and have been doing that my whole life as a past time. I named the business after my son Tristan Searles Jr. (TJ). I plan to leave a legacy for my family by creating this business.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am also one of the owners of Black and Talented. An Urban Clothing Line started by my business partner/best friend Jerome Hall and I in 2020.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spot is the U Bar on Camp Creek Parkway on Sundays. Monday is of course Magic City. Tuesday is Blue Flame. Wednesday is VVS with R&B Wednesdays. Thursdays we could go Traffik. Fridays are for Red Martini. Saturdays are Opium/UBar. My favorite restaurant is Tin Lizzys- you have to get the tortilla chips with the special seasoning and the buffalo chicken tacos.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My wife has continuously encouraged me to pursue this business and if it was not for her, I would not have started my business. She has motivated me throughout this process.
