We had the good fortune of connecting with Trent Moya and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trent, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk is very important not only in business but in life as well. Risk is one of those things that you have to be able to throw caution to the wind and believe in not only your work but yourself. Risk could be something very small as in should you go the long way home or the short way home or could be something as detrimental as risking your life savings on an Business investment. But you have to be willing to take educated risk, you would have to do your research and see which would benefit you and your love ones the most. But sometimes if you just really be a good feeling and that is you telling you to believe in you.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The art that I create is edible art this art can be experienced on multiple levels not only visually but it can be experienced to your taste buds as well. One of the things that set me apart from others are my attention to detail and my ability to make photo realism in food form. The one thing that I am truly proud about oh my customers reactions towards my cakes, I love hearing that they enjoyed what I created. So how it all started for me was with my grandmother growing up, she’d always let me help in the kitchen. She was the one that pushed for me to try out culinary school even though all I wanted to do was play football. She’s the reason why I put Blood sweat and tears into my craft to become the absolute best and make her proud. Unfortunately on my road to become the best it has definitely not been a easy one that has been a lot of obstacles I’ve had to overcome in a lot of hardship. But through all of these obstacles and hardship I learned a lot not only about myself as a business owner but a lot about myself as a person. The one thing I want the world to know about me and my brand is that we will give you the absolute best product from taste to presentation I strive to make my cakes and experience, I want my customers to look back years later and say” did you see that cake! That was soooo amazing I need one of those!”

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my friends come to ATL the first but I’m taking them to is Fox Brothers BBQ, they have the best barbecue in the whole city. Then I’d have to take them to Olympic park as well as the aquarium and the trap museum. For breakfast I had to take them to Atlanta breakfast club the best chicken and waffles I’ve ever had in my life hands-down. Depending on the time of year I’d have to take him to the hawks game

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes of course! The main person I would like to shout out is my grandmother, she is the individual that showed me the amazing world of cakes and allow me to express my artistic side through food. She’s the one that helped push me not only in school but in life to do better for myself, but I can’t say thank you without thanking my family they have been an amazing support system from my mother reaching out to anybody she knows telling them that I do cakes to my father showing me how important it is to be my own boss. As well as all of my siblings uncles and aunts for always showing me a bunch of love and support through this journey.
