We had the good fortune of connecting with Tracey Richburg and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tracey, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I really didn’t Perdue an artistic or creative career I think it found me. Before and after military service I was employed in the medical field. I. 2018 I was diagnosed with a brain tumor, a meningioma, and was having some issues with memory and problem solving. I started working with resin as a hobby and as a way to relax and explore my creative side. While working with resin I discovered that my hobby also helped with memory and problem solving issues. It also gave me an something other to focus on besides my diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing issues

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When I started working with resin my first project was beach/ocean themed. I’ve tried a do other items that are different and don’t have that ocean or beach theme, but when I do, I’m not satisfied with the piece. But when I change it or do the same piece with the ocean theme, it looks so much better to me. I’ve tried to get away from it a little for fear of being pigeon holed into a certain design, but it seems to work and I just keep getting better at it. I’m think I’m stuck with it (happily!) I am most proud and humbled at the same time when a customer comes to me and asks if I can create something for them. Once I consult with them and make that idea a reality it’s the greatest feeling- and that’s what keeps me going and expanding on items that I can offer. I made a goal for myself from year one to increase the amount of events that I participate in yearly. That has been working out beautifully! I get to travel and meet some of my social media followers. I have items that have been sold and/or have been given as gifts and sent to The Netherlands, England, and all over the United States.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’ve had some bad f the best times attending sports events. I’m not really a baseball fan, but I like attending Atlanta Braves games. I’ve been to an Atlanta Falcons game or two, although I’m a Steelers fan, I love the atmosphere created by Falcons fans at their homes games no matter who their opponents are.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to my friends who purchased items in the very beginning and continue to support and patronize my business
