Meet Tisha Santillana-Adams | Medical Spa Practice Owner and CEO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tisha Santillana-Adams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tisha, what role has risk played in your life or career?
The greatest risk one can take is to not take a risk at all. You must be comfortable with uncertainty, and you must be willing to fail. The risk is where the success is. The more that I became comfortable with taking risks, is when I truly realized my full capacity. I personally know that a blessing is waiting on the other side of the risk; and if I fail, then I know there is an opportunity for me to learn and grow. I learned that life has no power without risks. Most people are scared to take risks because of the uncertainty of the outcome. Others fear risks because of the possibility of failing or not meeting the objective. I challenge myself to embrace risks because it’s my way of pushing past anything in my mind that is holding me back. I personally celebrate and embrace risks because risks have a way of showing me my greatest potential.
One of the greatest risks I took was when I decided to go back to college, work full-time and obtain my Doctorate degree. I was concerned about the risk of not passing classes, not spending time with my family, missing deadlines at work, and not achieving the end goal. Another big risk I faced head-on is when I relocated from New York City to Atlanta with no friends or family; all in pursuit of a better quality of life for my family and I. Although there were many challenges, and certainly there were risks, I am grateful that I did not allow the fear of risk get to get in the way of my faith and to move forward with what I know I was called to do. As a result, I finished school and obtained my Doctoral degree, I opened up my own med-spa practice, my family is happy and healthy, and I have not looked back, nor do I have any regrets. Again, by taking a risk, my life feels more complete than ever.
When you are passionate and in pursuit of something, even if you do not meet the objective, the real success is in the fact that you made an attempt to push past fear. Don’t allow risk to interfere with what you sought out to do for yourself. If you do not succeed the first time, pick yourself up and try again.
My advice to anyone is to embrace risks, be comfortable with failure, be okay with not always meeting the objective and allow yourself the freedom to do what your heart desires irrespective of the outcome. When you get to this level of trust within yourself, fear or risks will not come into play. You will then realize how resilient you are and how much you can accomplish by just trusting God, and yourself.

What should our readers know about your business?
I own and operate a medical spa, lovingly called Pyure (Pure) Natural Wellness. I am most proud of my medical spa because I started from an idea. I was experiencing a turbulent time in my life when my mother became gravely ill. At the time, I was a Vice President, at a Fortune 1000 Company. I had all the bells and whistles in terms of material things however, my heart was broken. I knew that I was called to do something more. I walked away from a prospering and thriving career to start a business that would help others. My practice provides a holistic approach to healthy living. We offer naturopathic remedies to those who experience abdominal discomfort, weight gain, inflammation, and ailments that occur in the body as a result of a toxic colon. We also offer a wide array of other naturopathic remedies to help reduce and eliminate chronic pain and illnesses. Pyure Natural Wellness is essentially the calming place that provides services that not only target medical conditions, but also offer spa-related services such as body contouring, facials, permanent cosmetics, and a host of other beauty treatments. What sets Pyure Natural Wellness apart, is that you can come in for a wellness service due to pain and discomfort and you can also treat yourself to pampering services that is sure to provide a tranquil experience that you will not forget.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would start the day with an early brunch at Rays on the River. Later that afternoon we will take a stroll at Chateau Elan’s winery. There is nothing more enjoyable than wonderful wines on a breezy fall afternoon. I would end the evening with dinner at the Sky Lounge, in Atlanta. To close the night out we would enjoy delightful delicacies and coffee at Cafe Intermezzo.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my parents, who are both deceased. Both of my parents started from humble beginnings however, they never lost sight of the importance to remain steadfast, humble, and resilient. My father taught me the importance of a strong work ethic. My mother taught me core family values. A combination of them both has led me down a path of hard work and dedication; combined with fortitude and determination to overcome all obstacles. I also dedicate my shoutout to my daughters, who are simply my entire world. I would not have the drive to persevere and pick up the torch, even when I am discouraged if it weren’t for my daughters. No matter what obstacles life brings, as long as I have the peace that I receive from my children, I will carry on and will continue to embrace this journey called life.
