We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Grant Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
The most important thing I’ve done as a parent is to nurture my own inner child and give her the things that she needs. That meant getting clear on the fact that I am the student and my child would be the teacher. This mindset shift totally changed the way I viewed how I parent and cater to the needs of my child versus my own.

Oftentimes we are longing for things that only we can give to ourselves. As children, we have been conditioned to believe that our parents will provide us with all the things we will need and that’s simply not true. Our parents provided us with the things that they knew how to do. To this day many of our parents are working on giving us the things that we actually needed/need versus the things that they did not receive as children.

The reality is–we got a lot from our parents, but not every single thing we needed. My biggest lesson as a parent has been to give myself the things that I need right now, today.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a Doula and Mommy Coach. I provide emotional, physical, spiritual and informational support to birthing people throughout the birth journey. I want to help empower anyone who identifies as a birthing person or with the divine feminine principles of creativity and fertility to harness their innate ability to create the life they want for themselves, connect to their inner divinity, and cultivate meaningful and flourishing connections with themselves and others. My work is rooted in the principles of birthing, femme empowerment, and self love. I am not just a doula and coach, but a sister, friend, and support person in this beautiful journey that you may be embarking on.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my amazing husband and daughter. They are the reasons that I not only know love, but can give and receive of it so freely. Every day that I get to witness their view of the cosmos and get a front row seat into how they view the world and share love, I am so grateful. They are my rocks and push me to keep going and growing and to follow what truly lights me up!
