We had the good fortune of connecting with Thies Mckaye and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Thies, what are you inspired by?
I’m inspired by the opportunity to help others achieve their goals and streamline their tasks. Every project I assist with, and every problem I help solve, fuels my passion for making life easier for those I work with. Seeing the positive impact my support can have on someone’s day-to-day life motivates me to keep learning and improving.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My journey as a virtual assistant has been incredibly rewarding, but it certainly didn’t come without its challenges.

My commitment to excellence and dedication to truly understanding my clients’ needs set me apart from others. I don’t just focus on completing tasks—I aim to be a reliable assistant who helps bring their visions to life. Whether coordinating events, managing schedules, or handling communication, I take pride in delivering work that exceeds expectations.

One of the lessons I’ve learned along the way is the importance of continuous learning and being open to new experiences. The more you grow, the better you can serve your clients. I also believe in the power of building strong relationships, which has been a cornerstone of my success.

What I want the world to know about my brand and story is that I’m passionate about helping others succeed. My mission is to provide top-notch support, allowing my clients to focus on what they do best while I take care of the details. Every project I work on is an opportunity to make a difference, and that’s what drives me every day.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting Jamaica for a week, I’d make sure they experience the island’s best. We’d start in Kingston, exploring Devon House, the Bob Marley Museum, and enjoying live music at Dub Club. In Ocho Rios, we’d climb Dunn’s River Falls, zip-line at Mystic Mountain, and dine at Evita’s Italian Restaurant. A day in Negril would be spent on Seven Mile Beach and watching the sunset at Rick’s Café. In Montego Bay, we’d visit Rose Hall Great House, relax at Doctor’s Cave Beach, and dance the night away at Pier 1. Port Antonio would offer natural beauty with a dip in the Blue Lagoon, lunch at Boston Jerk Centre, and relaxation at Frenchman’s Cove. On the South Coast, we’d explore YS Falls, tour the Appleton Estate, and enjoy dinner at Lover’s Leap. Finally, we’d hike Blue Mountain Peak, visit the National Gallery, and end with a farewell dinner at Strawberry Hill, soaking in Jamaica’s culture, beauty, and incredible food along the way.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A huge shoutout to my amazing sister in business, Chrissy Williams! She has been my main motivator, always pushing me to reach new heights and reminding me of my potential when I need it most. Her support and encouragement mean the world to me, and I’m so grateful to have her by my side on this journey. Here’s to many more successes together!
