We had the good fortune of connecting with Tharb Aworan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tharb, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?

I’d really like my legacy to be that I’m a self-taught artist that creates art that’s dedicated to informing, illuminating and inspiring action on various issues that challenge society. My artistic focus is also on creating positive, accurate & beautiful imagery of iconic & historical figures, celebrities, digital influencers, and even fictional characters.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

Thanks for being such great fans. I think what sets my work apart is that I enjoy integrating my skills in 3D character design when initiating any of my artwork. I’m most excited about how each piece of art teaches and inspires patrons to learn more historically about each character or subject. The creative process is not always easy because you get so many ideas, but I’ve learned to stay focused on the purpose of my brand and how each piece inspires. The toughest part of the journey is harnessing the technical and artistic skills and tools to turn it into a viable business. The journey, though has been extremely fulfilling.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

My first reaction is spending alot of time in the High Museum on Art in Atlanta. Seeing the ranges of artistic expression worldwide within this museum is always inspirational.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

I would like to shoutout a new groundbreaking artist, whose name is iKhava Omogé. She’s an American NFT creative, luxury handbag & accessory designer, model and philanthropist. She is an avid supporter of children caught within the American foster care system, as many of them are handed trash bags when packing their belongings and leaving their homes. iKhava ensures that a percentage of every handbag & NFT sold is donated to reputable non-profit organizations that ensure these children get a suitcase instead to maintain their dignity during transition.
