We had the good fortune of connecting with Terrance Crawford II and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Terrance, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I believe that risk taking is essential for accomplishing your goals. I think Covid was a blessing to a lot of creatives and entrepreneurs because with a lot of businesses closing during this time it forced people to really sit down and work on their ideas and goals. It forced people to create their own opportunities for themselves instead of waiting for someone to create opportunities for them. I wanted to create my own stability for myself and my son.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is a little bit different than most. I am a actor as well as a inspirational speaker. I begin my career and inspiration on speaking about a year ago I started off by making short videos on my social media platforms, which were Instagram and Facebook giving people inspirational motivation based off of Bible scriptures. When I first began making those videos, I was going through a lot of different trials and tribulations in my life and I started really working on my relationship with God and becoming stronger in my connection with God and I realize that I wasn’t the only person that was probably going through similar situations, so I began to just give people words of encouragement and give them Bible scriptures to help them and encourage them to get a connection with God as well. Eventually ventured over to TikTok, and there is where I really started to gain traction. I don’t really post videos for likes or views, because I believe that the people who I am meant to reach, will see the videos and the people who I’m not supposed to reach I won’t. I would say since I began everything has been pretty easy, because I am following the instructions that God has given me. When you follow the path that God has placed you on and believe in the things that he has promised you, I’m not saying that it’s always gonna be easy but you won’t have to worry as much because you know that God always has your back and he’s never gonna lead you down a path that he doesn’t want you to go on. When you see most motivational speakers or inspirational speakers, we see that most of them are a lot older, because with wisdom combs experience, but I am looking to become one of the youngest inspirational speakers in the world ages 27 I believe that no I have not gone through everything in life, but I believe that the things that I have gone through I can help people Around my age and younger to help them not go down or make some of the mistakes I’ve made. It a lot easier to relate to someone around your age.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta has a lot to offer. I don’t really go out that much ,but I would definitely have to introduce them to some real ATL cuisine. I would take the to “The Bando” to try the “crack wings. We are definitely trying in the wing spots in the city. We would also have to hit up Then we would hit the Trap Museum because my homie is a big rap historian. Probably hit up the ATL sports seen catch a some hawks and braves games. Like I said man I don’t really go out that much I keep everything simple. So whatever they want to do I down for it.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There is actually 2 people that I want to give credit to helping me choose my path. The first person I want to give recognition to is my mother Kimberly Crawford. My mother has always encouraged me to go after the things that God has placed in my heart to do. She has always encouraged me to keep my faith in god and never let anyone tell me that I can’t accomplish things. Her constant word of wisdom is the sole reason why I chose a career in Inspirational Speaking. The second person I would like to give recognition to is my High School basketball coach AAron Lucas. Coach Lucas saved my life. I only played for Coach Lucas for my senior basketball season, but he taught that there was more to life then basketball. His teachings about life and just watching the type of man that he was and how everyone would speak so highly of him around the city I wanted to model my life after his. I ended up joining Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity INC because of Coach Lucas. He helped me turn my passion for competing and basketball into career in Film and television. So thank you again to my mother Kimberly Crawford and My Coach AAron Lucas.
