We had the good fortune of connecting with Tanisha Stewart and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tanisha, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
I have learned over the course of time that there is no such thing as “balance” when it comes to work and life. You will have seasons where you need to devote your time to one more than the other. I like to think of it as “harmony” instead of “balance”. Not only does this view take some of the pressure off, but it gives permission to make the necessary choices in whatever season you are in. You get to choose to focus more on work in one season and life outside of work in other seasons. Sometimes, you can have the harmony of choosing both work and life in the same season.

What should our readers know about your business?
As a dual career professional, I have the grand opportunity of supporting the health and wellness of over 600 little people ages 5-10 in addition to supporting ladies over 40 as they navigate all the stages of menopause. For my students, I help them to cultivate a love of health and wellness for their bodies at a young age. For my ladies over 40, I help them to love themselves as they are while still pursuing their health and wellness goals. I am most proud of the fact that my first virtual fitness boutique client is still with me today over 3 years later…not because she needs to be, but because she chooses to be. We pray. We Shed. We WIN! My “secret sauce” is our check-in time. We talk about faith, life, love, career goals, parenting, stress, sleep, and everything else that life entails. Those are the things that take up residence in our bodies while either helping or preventing us on our journeys to health and wellness.

I am still here today because of consistency in service to my clients. I will not say doing the work is “easy”, but loving what I do and who I serve bring me joy. I have learned along the way that being true to myself is the only way to show up. My business caters to women who KILL it in Corporate America but STRUGGLE to prioritize their health and wellness. I have been there, and I know the “struggle is real”. When ladies take the time to have a chat with me, I believe they come to realize that my heart is for them whether I am their coach, or I help them find the right coach for them. It is my heart’s joy to serve.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ooooh! This is a good one! There are so many places to enjoy in Dallas-Fort Worth!

First, I would consider the things my best friend may enjoy, and plan from there.
Day 1
We could have some breakfast at Eggsquisite Cafe in Southlake and take a day hike at Cedar Ridge Preserve in Dallas, TX. We would pack some snacks and have a picnic break on the trail. Dinner would be light room service.
Day 2
We could have some breakfast at Jam & Toast in Las Colinas, and take a day trip to Fossil Rim Wildlife Preserve. It is a drive-through safari, and it is pretty cool. We could grab lunch there at the restaurant before heading back to the city. We could have dinner at Gloria’s near The Toyota Music Factory.
Day 3
We could start with breakfast at The Old West Cafe in Grapevine and have a day of shopping at Grapevine Mills, The Galleria, and Grand Prairie Premium Outlet. We could enjoy dinner at The Reserve at the Toyota Music Factory and whatever live music they have in the area that night.
Day 4
We could sleep in and order room service and have a chill out day by the pool. Rest is a MUST. If we get tired of resting, we can always go roller skating at InterSkate in Lewisville..
Day 5
We could have breakfast at Jonathan’s Place in the Bishop Arts District and a nice walk enjoying the shops there. Lunch at The Vegan Food House would be great. Dinner at Tupelo Honey is a nice finale for the week.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to all ladies over 40 who haven’t given up on living life and taking care of themselves. I want to make a special shout out to P.
