We had the good fortune of connecting with Tamya Walker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tamya, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
The hard days! When things get hard, business is slow, sales are slow, those are the times when it’s the easiest to give up that’s when you go harder! That’s how I know to keep going.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What I’m most proud of is the fact that I’m still going! Still pushing and my business grows everyday, also that my “IT GIRLS” are always satisfied and coming back for more! In my opinion what sets my brand apart from others is that, there’s literally a gloss for everyone! Consistency and networking is how I am where I am today and it wasn’t difficult because this is something I want. Lessons I’ve learned along my way is always take feedback, always make room to grow. I want the world to know come shop 1of1BeatsCosmetics, we have something for everyone and new items are dropping soon! Also too my future entrepreneurs and business owners if nobody told you I’m telling you now, start that business!!! You’ll learn along the way!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my bestie was coming in town, the first stop would be probably be Mexican town for drinks and tacos, next stop would be the spa to unwind and relax later on in the day of course we have to eat again so we might end up at BJ’s or something, downtown Detroit has the most interesting and exciting people there, it’s always something going on down there

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family and close friends are the best support system a business owner can ask and wish for! Every sale, every drop they’re on it and rep it like it’s theirs, I couldn’t be more thankful! So shoutout to them, because they keep me going rather they know it or not!
