We had the good fortune of connecting with Tamar Turner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tamar, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
“Can’t stop, won’t stop, ’til we all on top!”

Funny thing about this quote/affirmation is that I am not 100% sure if I made this or if I saw it somewhere else, but whichever is the case I have not abandoned it since. To me, this quote is all about resiliency amidst all the trials and tribulations. It is one of the sole things that keeps me and the podcast going! I refuse to call it quits or even think about doing so until all of my family/friends/peers are household names!

There is no reason why we all can’t achieve the desired success by putting in the work for it day in and day out. I love how straightforward it is, but it can also be dissected and applied to various situations.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
The Down 2 Business Podcast highlights business owners, entrepreneurs and creatives worldwide. We aim to showcase the products and services offered by so many people that could often go unnoticed for a host of reason. I am most proud that I have been able to amass 80+ episodes and 8k+ plays over the last two years.

Business-wise, I would say the biggest thing that got me to where I am today is consistency. There are good days and there are bad days, but ultimately I wake up each day in the mindset of putting my best foot forward no matter what obstacle is placed in my path. I overcame challenges by always remembering my why behind all of this and it is easy to keep going when you get such positive feedback from others!

I have been able to learn a lot from every single individual who has graced the podcast with their presence. However, one of the gems that has stuck with me the most is the idea of running your own race. Your story has already been written and things will not always happen as you expect them to. Do not let timing or any outside factor influence how you chase your dreams.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Let’s start at Armature Works! That will give you a plethora of food options, live music and great views from sun up to sun down!

Exploring Tampa is certainly a great way to spend your weekend from checking out the historic Ybor City to even driving across the bridge and visiting some of the local beaches in Saint Petersburg too.

One of my favorite restaurants that I was introduced to pretty recently is Ulele. But I won’t spoil it for you, come see for yourself!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A little recognition is certainly an understatement…I think my little brother, Makai deserves a lot of recognition and he. may not even realize why. Growing up as an older brother he really taught me a lot both directly and indirectly but one of the things that always stuck with me was his drive and determination. I saw how passionate he was about things that interested him and his steadfast effort to always perfect whatever craft it may be. As a result, I translated a lot of these efforts into my own life and vowed that I would never come to my brother to say that I gave up or quit anything. It locked me in that much more with the podcast and just the enjoyment that I get from networking with others. So with everything I do, I always keep him in the back of my mind and how one day I hope to take care of us all with the foundation I am building now.
