We had the good fortune of connecting with Sukkie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sukkie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Honestly, I have always believed that my path was to work for myself and not for anyone else or any corporate organization. Naturally, you graduate from college and the next best thing is to look for a job. after many years in corporate America, I decided to start doing a few things here and there as a side business and when COVID hit, I got laid off and it was then, I made a run for it.
What should our readers know about your business?
We are an order hub for now. We serve an authentic Nigerian Delicacy Called Suya. Its basically Thinly sliced beef, grilled with special spices that wake-up your taste buds.
I am really excited that my vision of bringing the real flavor of suya to the diaspora has materialized. Many restaurants and businesses sell this delicacy but I can tell you without any equivocation that Atl Suya Factory is the best in the industry.
We are not where we want to be yet but I am grateful for where we are and it has been a long journey.
I can tell you this for free, Patience, dedication, discipline, focus, passion and excellent customer service are the reasons we are where we are today. We have challenges that we deal with, especially now with the inflation going on in the economy. Price of raw materials have greatly increased and this is affecting us adversely. We will not compromise on quality though.
The world should know that we are a brand focused on quality and excellent customer service. We will not waiver on these two attributes. It is who we are and I stand by it, I guaranty it.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honesty, in the last few years, I have been so busy building our brand that I have not done much in Atlanta. I will not be the best person to create that type of itinerary. On that note, can I phone a friend 🙂
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Ultimately God, for giving the grace. My amazing wife Dieko. Phenomenal human being. My children Sayo and Demi. Such joy to behold. They motivate me.
My sister in law, Korede, she is a major hustler and she inspires me.
