We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephen Martin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephen, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?

My wife Angela and I started ACESA along with son Ethan Ramsammy.  ACESA Cleaning Services, LLC, is a facilities management company offering commercial cleaning, disinfection, and recycling services to clients in the Atlanta Metropolitan area.

ACESA officially launched in December of 2019, but Steve commented that this is a goal they’ve been dreaming of for a while. “Both Angela and I wanted to leave a legacy for our blended family. The name ACESA represents the initials of each of our children. We wanted to build a company they could be proud of with the expectation that they would carry the company forward and build on the foundation we started.”

“We have a lot of passion to do the best job at whatever we do and we both want to carry on our family name; that’s really important to us.”

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

ACESA excels in offering a full suite of facility management services including cleaning and disinfection on a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or emergency response basis.

ACESA’s Mission is to maintain the safety and wellness of local businesses, warehouses, and distribution centers with tailored facility management programs that include cleaning, disinfection, and recycling. Recently ACESA was awarded a multi-year contract by the State of Georgia to provide COVID-19 Disinfection Services. Activities will include electrostatic disinfection services to any state, county, and municipal buildings, campuses, and vehicles.

What sets us apart is our ability to successfully combine cleaning and disinfection as companies bring their staff back to work.   We have incorporated technology which allows our team to track the cleanliness of sites based on ACESA’s specified cleaning protocol and how often most highly trafficked employee areas (main restrooms, breakrooms, locker rooms and lobbies) are being disinfected.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Some of our favorite spots in the city include Ponce City Market and the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.

If we had a day to dedicate to exploring the City of Atlanta – (which we absolutely love to do) We would visit several shops at the Ponce City Market (Angela’s favorite place), take a walk on the Atlanta belt line, have a popsicle from the King of Pops and you can’t go wrong with a Margarita and Tostones from El Super Pan.

We totally believe we are “Buffalo wing connoisseurs” and love Whitehall Tavern – for wings and football! (Nothing like Bills Mafia in Atlanta.

We also enjoy great walks and the natural beauty of the Atlanta Botanical Gardens which also has a site in Gainesville.

Finally, one of our absolute favorite restaurants is Adelle’s on Canton – for great cajun dining.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

We would like to “Shoutout” first and foremost the employees of ACESA for their hard work, effort, and determination to a job well done each and every day. We’ve hired staff with extensive years in the cleaning industry preparing us not only to meet the needs of our clients but to exceed them with service!

Also, we would like to provide a “Shoutout” to GMSDC – Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council for their guidance, support, and opportunity provided to network with other minority partners in the area. As a new business, it’s important to have the counsel of professionals as a resource.

And last but not least we would like to “Shoutout” Shea Taylor, Senior Business Consultant, and Chase Advancing Black Pathways to Achievement program as another excellent resource to guide us along our journey.
