We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Cochrane and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephanie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I decided to become and entrepreneur and go full time into my photography, i thought about the emotion women would get by seeing themselves in another light. Sometimes as we grow our families we get lost in taking care of other and stop with ourselves. We don’t get up and get dress and feel our norm.
A day experience with me allows women to have a glam day designed just for them to where they can get their hair and makeup done, dress up ..or down..lol and just flaunt and reveal in their own beauty.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Since having my kids (2 girls) I have been that mom with 3000 plus photos in their phone. My husband decided to buy me a camera for Christmas to help me out. I took random pics of my kids, dogs, family, plants and thing i could find beauty in. After a few weeks of learning my camera I would look back at my images and be amazed in myself. A lot of the pictures were really good. And that was without editing…I showed family and friends and talked to my mom and told her how it made me feel when I was on the back end of the camera. Through conversation i was like “I really enjoy this and think I can do something Ike this for real”. I started doing photography about a month before the shutdown with COVID-19 as a profession, I was on active duty in the Marines. At that time i did now know the exact area in photography I wanted to do. I would photograph any and everyone that would give me a chance..lol (families, beaches, maternity, products). I started watching YOUTUBE and taking notes, buying all the editing things I could find at a decent price, quality computers (that was a trial in itself..lol) and just practice as much as I could.
With experience in many genres of photography, I found boudoir. I was like what..this is a thing I love it. The female stealing back her power, building confidence, feeling sexy, looking amazing. And all the wonders and creativity that can be down within it. This is my JAM…I want women to feel amazing, smile, love themselves and know how to take care of themselves. Women are more powerful and beautiful then we give ourselves credit for.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My best friend and i would travel. We love new places and food to eat. Tropical places are our favorite. My dream place is Morocco. I love the architect there. To lay on the beach with my feet in the sand and perfect views…OMG….LOL I love hiking, so a few days trips through the mountains, hopefully to a few local spots and gems. I love getting in with the locals and see, eating and going to the place they love. Bike rides at sunset or rise. Or just relaxing at or by the pool. Seems like everyone dream, right? But it is truly what I love..embedding myself in other countries.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family have been the best. My parents have definitely been one to push me in whichever direction my heart desired. They have not always liked my ideas but have tried to tune them and help me be better. My little sister is my roll dog…lol…she has been so awesome with her creativity and mixing it with my own. She has built items for my client closet like the angel wings, she goes with my on events, and has really been there from anything, and more, I’ve asked of her to help push me forward. My family really are my biggest fans and supporters.
