We had the good fortune of connecting with Stella Ihenacho and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stella, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
As a mother to three Queens all under the age of five years old, one of the most important things I have done as a parent is to accept the truth that I am whole and a work in progress at the same time. In My background and how I grew up, I had a shaky relationship with my mother, and so I did not fully appreciate the depth of her sacrifices until I became a mother. She gave up her life, so we can have ours and hers, and though she would say this was her purpose to raise us, I see the dreams in her eyes that she has buried for so long and is now getting reawakened. I see her consciously working towards redeeming her years and her youth. With this knowledge, I am having to raise my daughters knowing that I am the first picture of purpose they see. I am a representation of the world they first get to meet and first impression matters a lot, and so I do not take this assignment for granted. In that same breath, I am having to show them what growth is, what mistakes looks like, what balance looks like, what it means to be a mother, a wife, a business owner, and a career professional at the same time; what it means to be a parent but still not know all the answers, what it means to love and be loved, what it means to be whole but still becoming all at the same time. The most important thing is showing them what is possible if you commit your mind to something. To also rewrite the narrative and change the story that I am passing onto them which is, there is no ceiling any longer and nothing is far out of their reach, to own their voice, their authenticity, to tell their stories, and to be conscious that in life, anything is possible and when their preparation meets opportunities, success is theirs for the taking.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

My businesses are Women Doing It Afraid LLC and NSTAR Technologies LLC. Though both are so different in whom they serve, they share a similarity-increase in knowledge and providing opportunities.

At Women Doing It Afraid, we are a thriving community for and of women who are overcoming their fears and are stepping up to becoming their best possible selves. It is a community that educates, empowers, and elevates its members through coaching, courses, and content. We have helped women start their business, collaborate with one another, apply for jobs they thought was not possible and step into their limelight. At NSTAR technologies, we train and coach professionals who are looking to switch to high-performing and high-paying jobs. We are on the pathway to becoming an award-giving institution and increasing our course portfolio to give our students options to choose from as they grow in their career and professional journey.

Both businesses birth from a place of leveling the playing field and providing opportunities to our community and beyond. Using our knowledge and experiences to help guide other people in their journey. From helping moms get better careers by overcoming their fears through Women Doing It Afraid to helping Dads get into high paying jobs and now they provide for their family in a way they never thought possible through NSTAR Technologies.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
WOW! I would start off by taking my friends to the sky view Atlanta to take a look at the beautiful city and downtown Atlanta and to places like the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park, World of Coca Cola, centennial Olympic park, Georgia Aquarium and a horse ride around the city. After which, I would look for the closest Juicy crab and have a feast. Then we would go down to Atlantic station to do some window shopping, grab a yogurt and see a movie, Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This might be unconventional, but my shout-out goes to my spouse. As a working mom, business owner, and community builder, I typically have my hands full and busy, and so does he. However, He has consistently stepped up to the challenge of being a true partner in every sense of the word. From being the tech guy when we have our onsite business workshops to taking care of the kiddos when I have presentations to brainstorming with me through my multiple ideas and just giving me the thriving space to be myself.  I believe he truly deserves this shout-out.
