Meet Sohna Harzeez-Jeanty: Founder of The Bubble Pitt

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sohna Harzeez-Jeanty and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sohna, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
Wearing white after Labor Day. If you can clean it, wear it. Well, I’ll clean it. Besides, we all need the basics in our wardrobes. White t-shirts and button-ups are year round staples. There is a such thing as winter white. Use all of the colors or none of the colors in your wardrobe.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Bubble Pitt is a hygienic and eco-friendly garment care service provider. I grew up helping my grandma with laundry while learning how to be a southern belle in the North. I wanted to start a fashion house in middle school and quickly began designing for my future fashion shows. I interned at a local urban boutique in DC knowing I wanted to open a fashion co-working space in Baltimore. Fashion and entrepreneurship have always been passions of mine. My husband wanted a business where he could make money without spending a lot of time working on the business. So I came up with a small laundromat. I decided that I would open a boutique hotel. Now look at us – we switched businesses. I decided combine my love of style and people pleasing ways to form this business. I, like so many others before me, have firsthand knowledge of how hard it is to start a business alone. I really opened this business for my fellow small business owners who have a hard time delegating tasks. Like, today laundry but tomorrow sales. Having a supportive team is very important to the sustainability of any business. If the first delve into outsourcing doesn’t work, go to the next and the next until you have fully formed your business ecosystem. Much like piecing together a wardrobe. Everyday is going to be a new challenge, shoot every hour. But one thing business pitch judges will not be able to say about my clients, is that they look dusty.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First off, they are getting a home delivered meal. Don’t judge me. I need to ask if this is a picky friend or an adventurous friend because I have had both to visit. The picky friend will get McDonalds. Wasting my time. The friend I can ride out with will get the ATL tour. We will do a hop on hop off tour up Buford Highway just because. I started doing these with my husband years ago. We got thick thighs. So Pollo Campanero, Roll It Up or Sweet Hut, Super H, pho, Canton House and the coconut man on the side of the road and all the taco places. We like trying other spots like all-i-can-eat hot pot. Then, we can hop over to Cascade Rd on a Tuesday. The Beautiful, Spice House, Big Daddy’s Cafe, Buzz for some coffee before we head over to Cascade Nature Preserve for a hike. Hopefully, I will be able to find the waterfall this time. Visiting a few home-based bars. Then club, ‘nother club, ‘nother club…We have to go travel the west side Beltline, tour Pittsburgh Yards and eat all across Sylvan Rd and West End for the culture. Entrees let me come up with a bean pie milkshake so milkshake and crabs from What’s Crackin’ because I get my peaches on the east side. There’s more but just hit me up for an itinerary.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I just finished the Start:ME Atl business accelerator program put on by the Goizueta Business school at Emory. This program was my most recent investor – thanks to my peers. My mentors were great. My community supports my vision. My mom was my very first investor. My friend from college, Moe of Retro Aesthetics was my second. My husband, Michael, is always trying to get me to get out there to tell people about what I am doing. The group at Pittsburgh Yards Community Market is encouraging. My clients and their word-of-mouth! Michael from Krown Hats Co. has been an early supporter and brought business with his shoutouts just off GP.
