We had the good fortune of connecting with Shonica Crocker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shonica, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
This question is always at the forefront of any entrepreneurs mind. The weight of emotional attachment to my business is enormous. Even in our darkest moments, when things look uncertain is when I push the hardest! I always assess if the issues are temporary or permanent before making long-term business decisions. In my industry, things are ever-changing and in order to stay ahead of my competition, I have to stay in “the Know” and grow with the trends. My motto has always been to keep pushing until all options have been exhausted. Before those options have run its course, I do my best to align other income streams in the event one business simply does not work…But giving up is never an option…Find a way or make one!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I consider myself a serial entrepreneur. I have curated so many skills through experiences that set me a part from most entrepreneurs. There is always something cooking in this brain of mine! Currently, I own an ultra lounge in atlanta called Burn Lounge Atlanta, operating now for 6 years. I have a “women in business/leadership” platform called Leaders Over Bosses. I am Co-partner in 2 other business (T House Enterprises and The Set List Agency), so I have plenty to keep me busy! Consistency and extreme focus keeps me aligned with the successes of my endeavors. Anything worth having is never easy, but the risks are worth the reward! If I could give anyone insight to my brand, I would tell them it’s more work than entertainment, its faith over fear, its passion over settling, its mandatory over waiting. But its WORTH IT!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I work too much so my BFF would probably be working with me on her visit! HA! BUUUUTTTT…if I had to entertain her it would probably look like this…… Breakfast at Ardens garden (Smoothie type of girl), Mandatory gym workout….Work a little after that. For lunch it would probably be a quick salad at Upbeet then an afternoon wind down before dinner. Dinner and drinks would be at Eight Sushi Lounge and the after party of course would be at Burn Lounge Atlanta 🙂

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Wow! There are so many people that have helped, prayed, and assisted not only with the success of Burn Lounge, but with my overall growth as a person and business woman. I am grateful for the support that I have around me, so shout out to GOD, my parents and family, my business partners, my staff/security, my “sister circle”, and every customer that has ever partied with us. THANK YOU! Shout out to those who champion my success silently or out loud….You are appreciated!
