Meet Shon Trail | Realtor, Entrepreneur, & Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shon Trail and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shon, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I’ve learned that risk isn’t about being reckless — it’s about being honest about what staying comfortable is costing you. Some of the biggest risks I’ve taken weren’t flashy decisions, but quiet moments where I chose to bet on myself without guarantees.
Real estate is full of uncertainty — markets change, deals fall apart, and confidence gets tested. What’s helped me is taking calculated risks: doing the work, gathering the information, and trusting my preparation enough to move forward even when the outcome isn’t certain.
Becoming a father changed how I view risk completely. It made me more intentional and long-term focused. I don’t chase shortcuts or quick wins — I choose growth, consistency, and decisions that align with the life I’m building, not just the moment I’m in.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My work is rooted in service, consistency, and long-term thinking.
I didn’t build my business through shortcuts or overnight success. There were seasons of uncertainty, financial pressure, and self-doubt that forced me to slow down, reassess, and grow — both professionally and personally. Those moments shaped how I show up today and taught me that clarity, patience, and integrity matter more than speed.
What sets my work apart is the responsibility I place on relationships. I don’t see real estate as transactional — I see it as stewardship. People trust me during some of the most important decisions of their lives, and I take that seriously before, during, and after a deal closes.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that real growth often happens quietly. Not every season looks impressive from the outside, but alignment, trust, and consistency always compound over time. My goal isn’t just to succeed — it’s to build something honest, sustainable, and rooted in care.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I wanted to give someone a well-rounded Atlanta experience, I’d split the time between Avalon and Ponce City Market.
Avalon in Alpharetta is about 40 minutes outside the city, but it’s one of those places that still surprises people. Alpharetta is already one of the nicest cities in Georgia, and Avalon really captures that elevated lifestyle — beautiful homes nearby, high-end shopping, great restaurants, bars, a movie theater, arcade games, and entertainment all in one walkable area. The energy feels polished and intentional, and it’s a great place to spend an entire afternoon or evening.
For a more classic Atlanta vibe, I’d take them to Ponce City Market. It’s right in the heart of the city and directly on the BeltLine, which is a must-see. The mix of local food spots, shops, rooftop views, and the surrounding neighborhoods really shows Atlanta’s creative and cultural side. Together, those two stops give you both sides of the city — modern, upscale living and the authentic heartbeat of Atlanta.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The two people who deserve the biggest shoutout in my journey are my mother and my wife.
They’ve both been in my corner through every high and every low — especially during seasons when things felt uncertain and progress wasn’t always visible. Their support has never been conditional on wins or outcomes; it’s been steady, honest, and grounding.
Beyond encouragement, they’ve both played a huge role in helping me strengthen my relationship with Christ and continue growing into a better version of myself — not just professionally, but as a man, a husband, and a father. That foundation has directly impacted my increased visibility and presence over the past year, and it’s something I feel continuing to grow stronger with time.
None of that happens without the people who keep you centered.
