Meet Shenique Richards-England | Entrepreneur – Villa manager, Events Planner/Coordinator, Administrative Manager, Super MOM & WIFE

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shenique Richards-England and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shenique, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
The principles of the Bible is what I value the most. The teachings and the commandments from Jesus Christ my Lord and savior.

I believe that the word of God is our daily guide and His words directs our decisions, actions, successes… our entire life.

My values are the things that I believe are important in the way I live and work. These determine my priorities.

The principles I value the most are;
Integrity
Selflessness
Openness
Leadership
Accountability
Honesty
Objectivity

These are the measures I use to ensure the plans for my life are in accordance with God’s promises.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Shenique Richards-England is a passionate, driven and dedicated young woman, who grabs all opportunities and curve balls thrown at her in the game of life. A graduate of the University of the West Indies, Mona with a Bachelor of Science in Experimental Biology (Major), Shenique worked as an educator for approximately 3 years spearheading the institution’s agriculture department. This has continued into her personal life where she is integral in her family business of poultry rearing and beekeeping. Her industrious nature has also influenced her scented candle and other homemade creations such as natural hair products.
However, her dynamic personality and winning smile has led her in the direction of a career in the hospitality industry which has been equally rewarding. In fact, in 2016 she copped 2nd place in the Ms. Hilton competition and was awarded Most Congenial. Since then, Shenique has managed her family Auto Centre in St. Ann, while residing and working otherwise in St. James. During that time, she co-managed several villas under the tutelage of Mrs. Nicole Greene, who later migrated to Canada. Having garnered immense preparation and training, Mrs. England rose to the occasion and now manages two luxury villas, a prestige gated community, and occasionally inspects villas along the north coast of Jamaica. She dedicated to upholding the highest of standards of these homes away from home and provides the necessary frameworks for residents to feel comfortable.
Additionally, she is passionate about youth development and mentorship. As such she is integral in several missions and youth upliftment programs in the parish of St. James. She excels at all she does. Her stick-to-itiveness is A class and customer service is second to none.
Shenique is a mother of three beautiful children, two girls, Zuri (5 years) and Azaria (3 years), and 1 boy baby (1 year). She is also a wife to Joel England for 9 years. Together they now operate their own concierge and management business, New Horizon Concierge Limited. New Horizon Concierge started in 2019, Shenique was previously employed as an assistant villa manager and events coordinator, while her husband Joel, was employed as a Field Officer with REMAX Realty Group. Together they both decided to merge their knowledge, expertise, training, skills and passion and launched their business that encompasses all aspects of their experience and profession.

New Horizon Concierge Services is a service provider for all lifestyle services and support; from event planning and execution and property management to concierge and vacation booking services. At New Horizon, not only do they manage and take care of your property, but they market it for you. They take the hassle out of you having to manage your property remotely. Their service offerings allow client access to a readily target audience of vacationers, families, couples, corporate entities and celebrities, due to the wide range of services that we offer.

Shenique is currently studying her Master of Science in International Business Administration at the MIU City University Miami. The journey has not been easy and as a family they have been fighting to rise above may struggles especially since Covid-19. Shenique lost her mother in July 2020 and 9 months after she lost her father. In the midst of that the business had lost several clients and business opportunities. However, Shenique is determined to push and be successful.
To the world, Shenique is a strong believer of Jesus Christ, one who is not deter by her circumstances or challenges. She fights to the very end and will continue to seek the best in everyone while offering the best version of herself. It is by faith and God’s grace that we are here, and we are here to do His will. Shenique is compassionate, caring, kindhearted and jovial. Friends and everyone know her as the risk taker and the determined “go getter”.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh, wow this is a very exciting question. First of all, I love excursions and traveling so if my best friend was coming to visit, I would take them to the beach, not only to swim and enjoy the white sand but to engage in several water sports activities such as pars sailing, snorkeling, banana boat, skiing and jet cars. There are also Rafting and Chukka Cove excursions we could include.

I would take them to our various restaurants, from local to international cuisine such as scotchies having the best jerk chicken and pork, Thai, Chinese, Indian and other local restaurants.

We could visit several crafts and in bond shops, our local shopping plaza and historical site visits to Rosehall Greathouse, Greenwood Greathouse, Sam Sharpe Square, and Bellfield Greathouse.

There are night life entertainments such as Margaritaville and Peir 1 just to name a few. There are several other locations we could visit for Karaoke nights and live band entertainments.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give God thanks for my life. Throughout my life I have been blessed with amazing people to guide and encourage me along.

My awesome supportive husband Joel England. He is my rock and most dedicated friend. God has blessed our union with three beautiful children, I proudly call my J.A.Z TRIBE – Jaziel (son 1 year old), Azaria (second born girl – 3years) and Zuri (1st born girl – 5 years old). They motivate me to keep striving for excellence. They are my best life trainer.

To my mentor Nicole Greene for all she has taught me and encourage me Throughout life’s journey. Her mentorship and support will never go unnoticed.
