We had the good fortune of connecting with Shardae Bennett and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shardae, how does your business help the community?
My nonprofit and books address the social concern of ADHD and Autism in children of color. In African and Hispanic communities they are considered undiagnosed. And I think that stems from the fear of wanting to place another label on our kids when they have so much to battle and overcome. So I provide the support and education needed to develop our environments knowledge base.
What should our readers know about your business?
My business is focused on a underestimated aid category. Children of color( African American and Hispanic) per numbers are least likely to get tested for ADHD and Autism. Their is a known disparity rate. And my business is to simple educate, provide resources, and within my kids book allow our kids to see themselves. I get my excitement from sharing my story and providing support to other families who never knew it was available. I overcame challenges by be confident in my problem and sharing my needs. By sharing my story I aligned with other parents who also found their own best practices. And I then developed a resource we all were in search of via support groups and writing educational books. The biggest lesson I have learned is to be okay with being vocal, you never know where your greatest help comes from. The goal of my brand is to help provide the education and support to every household in need of an answer when it comes to his/her child with ADHD and Autism
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout would be my son, who was so beautifully made with ADHD. That he took us both on a journey to create the missing piece in that field. My daughters who are my son and I biggest cheerleaders. My sister Janai and best friend Cheryl who puts so many hours into making my vision come to pass.
